Tours of festively decorated homes and inns will be held next weekend by two organizations to raise funds for various causes.

AAUW of Sonora 52nd annual Home Tour

The American Association of University Women will hold the 52nd annual Home Tour, Tea and Boutique Dec. 1 at various sites in Tuolumne County.

The tea and boutique will be held from noon to 5 p.m. in the Faith Hall at the Columbia Presbyterian Church of the 49ers, 11155 Jackson St., in Columbia.

The boutique will include homemade baked goods, crafts and unique holiday items along with a theme-basket raffle.

The home tour portion of the event will be held from noon to 4 p.m. at four homes festively decorated for the holidays.

Homes on the tour are the home of Claudia Smith, 18910 Old Bridge Road in Jamestown; the home of Danny and Rosemary Norton, 18464 Old Wards Ferry Road in Sonora; the home of Susan Turner, 12660 Red Chestnut Lane, No. 65, in Sonora Hills; and the home of Jerry and Jill Schwab, 20135 Gibbs Drive, in Sonora.

Tickets cost $25 per person, and can be purchased at Sonora Lumber or Joan’s Boutique in downtown Sonora or the Mountain Bookshop in East Sonora.

Southside Community Connections Holiday Inn and Home Tour

Southside Community Connections will hold its first Holiday Inn & Home Tour Dec. 2 at various sites in the south county.

The event will be held from noon to 4 p.m. and will offer tours of three private homes and three inns.

Tour tickets cost $25 per person. The tour is free for children 14 and younger.

After the tour, participants are invited to sing Christmas carols at Light the Season at The Little House on Merrell Road, where homemade soup, chili and desserts will be offered. Donations are encouraged.

All proceeds of both events go to SCC’s three core programs: Wheels, Village on the Hill and The Little House.

Homes and inns on the tour include Yosemite Rose; Red Tail Ranch; The Moonrise Trail house; “Moondance,” a custom-built home on eight acres; Timber Ridge; and the Groveland Hotel.
