Weinermobile

You don't have to be an Oscar Mayer wiener to have everyone be in love with you (contrary to the popular 1960s jingle). But with proposal season almost upon us, you can request an appearance by the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile to make your engagement more memorable.

As of Thursday, the Wienermobile is available for those wanting to pop the question. Just request the Wienermobile at least three weeks in advance of your special day. Those who are selected (based on availability) will be notified a week before their requested date.

If you're selected, two Hotdoggers will bring the Wienermobile to your proposal, where you and your significant other will get an engagement photo captured by the Hotdoggers, and receive a Wiener Whistle to commemorate the day. They can also arrange for banners, a sound system and televisions. While rides are off the table, couples can get a tour of the vehicle from the outside.

Zach Chatham (a Hotdogger under the moniker Zach n Cheese), of Indian Land, South Carolina, took advantage of the idea when proposing to Hannah Fogus, of Dallas, before Labor Day weekend at Yellowstone National Park.

"I've wanted Hannah to become Mrs. Chatham since I first met her, but I never knew how I would make her proposal special," Chatham said in a statement provided by Oscar Mayer. "When I interviewed with Oscar Mayer, I insisted she was in the room because she makes me feel comfortable, confident and at my best. When I received the job offer, I immediately knew this was my chance to propose in a place that idolizes how special she truly is to me. Long distance has tested the strength of our relationship, but it's never damaged us and now the ring on her hand will symbolize not only our strength, but our future. The proposal came on our 14-month anniversary and driving the Wienermobile not only made my proposal possible, but it made it memorable."

According to Oscar Mayer, Chatham's proposal was the first time an Oscar Mayer Hotdogger has used the Wienermobile to propose. But the 27-foot hot dogs on wheels (there are actually six crisscrossing the contiguous United States) have been requested for everything from backyard weddings to graduation celebrations and anniversaries. According to Oscar Mayer, Wienermobile couples can choose to sign a photo-release form to have their photos shared with the world.
