A Thanksgiving celebration and celebration of veterans are among the events planned in the coming weeks at the Sonora Elks Lodge.
The lodge will serve and early Thanksgiving dinner on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at the lodge.
Dinner will consist of Diestel turkey and all the traditional sides, including pumpkin pie for dessert. Doors will open at 5 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets cost $12 per person, and reservations are required by Friday, Nov. 1, by calling the lodge at (209) 533-1587.
A dinner to honor veterans will be held on Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11, at the lodge.
The pot roast dinner costs $12 per person and is free to veterans. Doors will open at 5 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. The Vietnam Veterans of America will post colors.
Reservations should be made by Friday, Nov. 8, by calling the lodge.
The lodge hosted its first bingo night in early October, and will host its second monthly bingo night on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
Doors open at 5 p.m., and games begin at 6 p.m. Hot dogs, chips and soda will be offered for $5 per person.
Members of the Elks Lodge will sell See’s Candy in the coming months to raise money for its charitable projects, including scholarships for local students.
Candies will be available to order at any Elks Lodge activity beginning at the Nov. 5 or by calling Pam Gracia at (209) 984-3625.
