Republican Women meet Oct. 28

Tuolumne County Republican Women Federated will meet Monday, Oct. 28, at My Garden Cafe in East Sonora.

The gathering will include social time at 11 a.m., a business meeting at 11:30 a.m. and lunch at noon at the cafe, 14270 Mono Way.

Photos to canvas subject of seminar

Jerome Andrews will present a free seminar Saturday, Oct. 26, on his art of transferring photographs to canvas.

The seminar will begin at 1 p.m. at Calvary Chapel, 19889 Soulsbyville Road in Soulsbyville.

Andrews, formerly the owner of Jerome’s Gallery in Jamestown, will have copies of his book for sale, and will give away a large photograph.

Annual book sale set for Nov. 1 and 2

The Friends of the Tuolumne County Library will hold its semi-annual book sale on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 1 and 2.

The sale will be held at the library, 480 Greenley Road, and will be open to Friends of the Library members from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. New members are welcome to sign up and shop at that time for a $20 annual membership fee. The general public can shop from 1 to 4 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

All proceeds help support the library and its programs.

Women’s Club meets Nov. 5 in Tuolumne

The Sierra Foothills Women’s Club will meet Tuesday, Nov. 5, at the Black Oak Casino Resort Conference Center.

Friendship hour will begin at 10 a.m., and a buffet brunch will begin at noon.

The “surprise” guest speaker will be in attendance.

Senior Center to host Holiday Craft Fair

The San Andreas Senior Center will hold a Holiday Craft Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 16 and 17, at the center, 956 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas.

The sale will offer handmade goods including jewelry, quilts, sculptures, photography, floral arrangements, breads, jams and more.

A soup lunch will be available for purchase.

Tuskegee Airmen subject for SIR meet

The Arnold SIR Branch 152 will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at Snow Flake Lodge, 335 Blue Lake Springs Drive in Arnold.

Guest speakers will be the Rev. Richard Gray and Lanelle Roberts Brent, both descendants of the Tuskegee Airmen, also known as the Red Tails, who were black American fighter pilots during World War II.

Lunch will be served for $18 per person.
