“Forrest Sings … for Supper,” a benefit concert for St. Patrick’s Matthew 25, will be presented Friday, Jan. 25, in the Parish Hall, 98 W. Jackson St., Sonora.
A silent auction will begin at 5:30 p.m., with dinner and entertainment from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
The featured performer will be Forrest Marion, who will present the event as his senior project. Guest performers will be the Jazz@8 vocal group, pianist Robert Combs, and flutist Sandra Betti.
Pre-sale tickets cost $25 per person and are available at St. Patrick’s Parish Office in Sonora (209-532-7139) or All Saints Parish Office in Twain Harte (209-586-3161). Tickets at the door will cost $30.
All monies raised will go to St. Patrick’s Matthew 25 Program, which provides a free breakfast for the hungry and homeless every Tuesday and Thursday at St. Patrick’s Parish Hall.
The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Tuolumne County will hold its annual Chocolate Lovers’ Hoedown Friday, Feb. 8, at the Sonora Elks Lodge, 100 Elk Drive in Sonora.
A live auction will include chocolate goodies and other items suitable for Valentine’s Day gifts. Sauces by Chef Dave will be available for purchase.
The event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., and the $35 per person cost will include a catered buffet dinner and appetizers.

The First Congregational Church in Murphys will hold its eighth annual Heavenly Chocolate Festival Feb. 9 at the church.
The festival will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. and will offer unlimited tasting of about 70 different chocolate creations and an opportunity to buy them. Wine tasting also will be offered
Tickets cost $12 per person.
The church is at the corner of Church and Algiers streets, one block from the Murphys Hotel.
