All-you-can-eat crab offered Saturday by Soroptimists

Soroptimist International of Twain Harte will hold its annual All You Can Eat Crab Feed on Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Tuolumne Veterans Memorial Hall.

The dinner will feature all-you-can-eat crab, homemade clam chowder, cheesy pasta Caesar salad, fresh rolls and dessert. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages also will be available for purchase.

Doors will open at 4:30 p.m., and dinner will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m., and a box raffle will be held. Attendees are invited to bring their own Crab-cracking tool kits and crab fixings.

Gala will support art, music programs at Curtis Creek

An event to support the art and music programs at Curtis Creek Elementary School will be held Feb. 2 in downtown Sonora.

The event, the Curtis Creek Black and White Gala, will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Sonora Opera Hall, 250 S. Washington St., in Sonora.

Funds raised will go toward art education and lesson curriculum, music classes and band instruments and will benefit all grades schoolwide.

Cost for the event is $40 per person and includes dinner, entertainment and an auction.

Odd Fellows Burns Supper set Jan. 26

Tickets are on sale now for the 2019 Odd Fellows Burns Supper, a celebration of

Scottish culture and Scottish poet Robert Burns.

The evening will feature a traditional Scottish dinner (vegan option available), bagpipes and Scottish dancers, scotch tasting, toasts, speeches and works by Burns. The evening is a fundraiser for the Sonora Odd Fellows Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation that provides services and financial support for Tuolumne County children (especially foster youth), the sick and the elderly, as well as the care and maintenance of its historic cemetery in downtown Sonora.

The dark-suit or highland-attire Burns Supper will be held Jan. 26 at the Hurst Ranch barn in Jamestown. Doors will open at 5 p.m. for no-host whiskey tasting and full bar. A dinner program will start at 6 p.m.
