The Elks National Foundation, of which the Sonora Elks Lodge is a part, has several scholarships available for students who will graduate in 2018.

Scholarships include: Most Valuable Student, Legacy Award (Elk family student), Emergency Educational Grant and Weigel Medical School Scholarship.

The MVS scholarship application period closes on Nov. 27, and the Legacy Award application period ends Feb. 2.

There are five $20,000 scholarships available for the Wiegel Medical scholarship for Elk scholars (current or alum) entering their first year of medical school. Applications for the Wiegel Medical will be available online at after Jan. 1.

The Elks also offer Emergency Educational Grants and an Undergraduate Scholarship Program for students with disabilities.

The EEC provides undergraduate college financial assistance to children of deceased or totally disabled Elks in the form of renewable, one-year grants up to $4,000. The Undergraduate Program is a financial needs-based and academic use scholarship. This is $1,000 /$2,000 each and is renewable for each year up to four years.
