Just in time for winter book reading, the Tuolumne County Historical Society will hold a book sale Oct. 12 to help clear its shelves for incoming donations.

The sale will begin at 6:31 p.m. in the Community Room at the Tuolumne County Library, 480 Greenley Road in Sonora and will end at 8:30 p.m.

Several tables will hold as many as 500 books on various subjects. Some books will be duplicates, soiled copies, or have missing pages or loose and damaged bindings. Damaged books will be sold at a discount, and all items will be sold in as-is condition.

All books will be priced to sell, and two-for-one deals will be offered.

Books have been reviewed by the society’s De-accession Committee, and funds from the sale will be used for continued conservation and restoration of the collection.

Items in the sale are not a part of the County of Tuolumne Collection, but are a part of the TCHS private collection at the history center.

Cash, checks and Visa or Mastercard will be accepted, as will tax-deductible donations.
