A Fun Day Saturday at Westside Memorial Park in downtown Tuolumne will raise funds for Lighthouse Ministries, a nonprofit organization that serves the poor and homeless in Tuolumne County.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature Christian music all day, swimming at Tuolumne Pool, bounce houses, craft booths, food and drinks and more.

St. Matthew Lutheran Church will host a free community concert featuring organist and composer Daryl Hollinger later this month.

The performance will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday, and refreshments will be served at an open house after the concert at 5:30 p.m.

The Mother Lode Jewish Community on Oct. 7 will celebrate Sukkot with a harvest-based potluck brunch gathering in Copperopolis.

The group will learn about the history and traditions of the holiday and, after brunch, Rabbi Andra Greenwald will conduct a brief service and lead the group in waving the lulav and etrog, an upbeat tradition associated with the holiday.

Faith Lutheran Church in Murphys will host a Reformation 500th anniversary concert and hymn sing Oct. 29 at the church, 65 Mitchler St.

Local singers and musicians will be featured in the hour-long concert, refreshments will be served, and activities for children will be offered.

St. Matthew Lutheran Church Women’s Missionary League will collect school supplies during September for needy children in Tuolumne County.

Anyone wishing to donate can do so between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and between 8 a.m. and noon Sundays at the church, 13880 Joshua Way in East Sonora.

All Saints Catholic Church in Twain Harte will continue inquiry sessions of the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults.

These sessions are for Catholics who want to know more about their faith, Catholics who have never received First Eucharist or Confirmation, and people who are just curious about the Catholic faith.

Sessions are held at 7 p.m. Tuesdays in the Parish Hall at the corner of Joaquin Gully and Cherokee roads in Twain Harte. The evening begins with an optional soup supper at 6 p.m.

St. Patrick’s Catholic Church will continue the period of inquiry into the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults this month.

RCIA is for adults seeking to receive or complete the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist) in the Catholic Church.
