Meals will benefit firefighting scholarship
Dining at Sonora’s Panda Express on Saturday will directly benefit the Columbia College Fire Academy Scholarship fund.
The fund will receive 20 percent of all proceeds between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. at the restaurant in the Crossroads Shopping Center on Sanguinetti Road.
Craft fair set at Willow Springs Clubhouse
A craft fair and holiday bazaar will be held Saturday at the Willow Springs Clubhouse, 20522 Willow Springs Drive in Soulsbyville.
The sale will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Grandma’s House to benefit from sale
Grandma’s House will hold a Holiday Bazaar and Bake Sale Saturday.
The event, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., will feature holiday gift items, and hot cider will be served.
All proceeds will benefit Grandma’s House, a nonprofit, volunteer-run tutoring and mentoring center for students who struggle in school.
Grandma’s House is at 22828 Gold Street, next to the Presbyterian Church of the 49ers in Columbia.
The following week, on Dec. 9, Santa will make an appearance between 5 and 8:30 p.m. Hot chocolate, apple cider and cookies will be served.

Women’s Club’s holiday party set Tuesday
The Sierra Foothills Women’s Club will meet Dec. 5 at the Black Oak Casino Hotel Conference Center.
Friendship hour will begin at 10 a.m., and brunch will be served at 11 a.m.
The club welcomes new members.
Holiday entertainment will be the Jazz @ 8 choir from Summerville High School under the direction of Jim Wells. Entertainment will be followed by a basket raffle.

Italian club to celebrate the holidays
The Figli d’ Italia Italian club will hold its annual Christmas Dinner Dec. 8 at the Sonora Elks Lodge.
Music will be performed by Steve Johnson, and a dinner with choice of prime rib, salmon or chicken cordon bleu will be served. Cost for the event is $25 per person.
Doors open at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7 p.m. at the lodge, 100 Elk Drive in Sonora.

‘An Evening in Paris’
“An Evening in Paris” will be the theme for the 12th annual Sonora Elks Lodge New Year’s Eve party.
A dinner of prime rib or salmon will be served at 6 p.m., followed by dancing to the music of the Rusty Rockers from 7 to 11 p.m. A champagne toast will be done at 9 p.m.
The event will also feature prizes and a cash raffle.
Cost for the event is $45 per person, and reservations must be made and paid in full by Dec. 28.

Odd Fellows dinner
Tickets are on sale now for the 2018 Odd Fellows Burns Supper, a celebration of Scottish culture and Scottish poet Robert Burns.
The evening will include a traditional Scottish dinner, bagpipes and Scotch, toasts, speeches and works by Burns.
The event is a fundraiser for the Sonora Odd Fellows Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides financial support and services for Tuolumne County’s foster youth, sick and the elderly.
The dinner will be held Jan. 27 at the Hurst Ranch barn off Highway 108 in Jamestown. Doors will open at 5 p.m.
