The volunteer auxiliary at Adventist Health Sonora recently installed officers for 2019.

Officers are: Pat Phelan, president; Sylvia Weinmeister Carothers, vice president; Linda Monroe, treasurer; Carolyn Smith, recording secretary; and Diana Asher, corresponding secretary.

The group will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at the Garden Cafe in East Sonora. Paramedic and EMT Nick Zavoda will discuss the importance of CPR.

The auxiliary was formed more than 50 years ago at Sierra Hospital, which merged with Sonora Community Hospital in 1981, and is a part of what is now Adventist Health Sonora on Greenley Road in Sonora.

Volunteers serve in the gift shop, attend information desks and admitting areas and deliver flowers, mail and newspapers to patients and reception areas. The group also offers scholarships to health care-focused students and donated $70,000 to the new Diana J. White Pavilion in Sonora.

New members are welcome. Applications can be found online at, or by calling (209) 536-5030.
