Summerville girls basketball gallops past Buffaloes


The Summerville High School varsity girls basketball team stormed their way to another Mother Lode League win against Amador, 56-32.

“We came out fast, starting the game on a 12-2 run,” said coach Greg Smith. “We had a few lapses in focus and energy, but the first and third quarters were solid.”

The Bears took full advantage of home-court advantage, moving their league record to 4-2, which placed them third in the league. Grace Fulkerson led the Bears’ offense with 19 points. Delaney Rodgers had 10 and Serafina Peterson had 9.

In the third quarter the Bears outscored the Buffaloes 22-9.

The team is off Friday night ahead of an important home game against Calaveras (4-2) Tuesday night.

The game begins at 7:30 p.m.
