Freshman Jessica Berry continues to impress. She had 12 points and 10 rebounds for her second straight double double. Berry was called up to the varsity squad earlier in the season because of injuries and illness.

Junior Shanece Garrett had eight points and five rebounds. And senior Haylie Santos had five assists and seven steals.

As the ‘Cats sit atop MLL rankings, Emerald said there are some tough games ahead.

‘It certainly won’t get any easier,” she said. There is a lot of season left to play, but this is really big for us.”

Tonight the Wildcats will host what’s sure to be a high-energy match-up against Calaveras.

Calaveras is coming off a 45-21 win over Amador. They’re 2-1 in league play and 9-7 overall. And they’re third in MLL play behind No. 2 Summerville and the No.1 ‘Cats.

Friday's varsity game begins at 7:30 p.m. at Bud Castle Gym.
