The 6th annual Glenn Bass Run is set for Saturday, Aug. 5, at Columbia College’s Carkeet Park.
A 1-mile run will begin at 8 a.m. with a 5K to follow at 8:30. Check-in starts at 7 a.m. The shorter run is stroller friendly while the longer race is 90 percent on dirt trail and not ideal for wheels. No dogs are allowed.
The Sonora Lions sponsors the run and proceeds benefit the Sonora High School cross country program. The Lions also support sight preservation and donate within the community.
Registration in advance for the 5K costs $20 and the 1-mile is $10. A family pack, three or more, is available for $45. The cost goes up $5 on race day, $10 for the family pack. T-shirts will be handed out to all pre-registrants.
Special awards will go to the top male and female finishers and also to the top boy and girl prep runners.
Refreshments will be provided following the races.
Pre-registration must be postmarked by July 30. Entry fees may be mailed to Sonora Lions Glenn Bass Run, PO Box 101, Standard, CA., 95373. Online registration is available at sonoralions.org.
