Seventy-six Tuolumne County Aquatic swimmers beat the heat July 6 by racing in the club’s mini meet at Sonora Sport and Fitness.

The youths swam fast times in all four strokes including the freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly in the 25 and 50 yard events. The team raced to 118 personal best times.

Leading the team with personal best times in all four of their swims were Aston Bias, 13, Bella Bouchoucha, 12, Evan Hawks, 9, Jaizlee Johnson, 6, Carter Mockable, 11, Scarlett Mockable, 7, Madelyn Nikiforuk, 8, Owen Shepherd, 9, Paige Tipton, 11.

Swimming three best times in 25-yard events were Payton Jahn, 6, and Lorelei Sullivan, 10.

Three bests in 50-yard swims were achieved by Erik Arnett, 8, Robert Asli, 11, Ry Atkins, 10, Sarah Acevedo, 12, Jake Boyd, 10, Jaxie Johnson, 9, Paige Rider, 10, Ethon Soto, 13, Ellery Stewart, 11, Lauren Tangenberg, 10, Nate Trujillo, 8, Maddie Utterback, 11, and Addie Walker, 9.

Fourteen TCA swimmers had two bests including Hosanna Atkins, 11, James Boyd, 7, Elijah Geeze, 12, Huck Harrelson, 13, Camron Jahn, 9, Avery Mazurkiewicz, 6, Everett Mockable, 9, Bjorn Rider, 13, Ella Schmidt, 11, Sarah Schmidt, 9, Murphy Sullivan, 8, Charlie Waelty, 7, Natalie Walker, 7, and Evelyn Wingo, 10.

Single bests were set by Rova Arijaona, 12, Brady Arnett, 12, Chase Castle, 8, Spenser Mauro, 8, Dixie Nessl, 8, Evan Roberson, 8, Noella Shepherd, 7 Sienna Soto, 8 and Tyler Utterback, 13.

Swimmers who dropped over 10 seconds in a single event were Everett Mockabee and Arijaona in the 50 fly and Hawks in the 25 free.

Everett Mockabee shaved 19 seconds while Arijaona and Hawks improved by 10 seconds.

Making their meet debuts were Khloe Cowden, 6, Asher Newman, 6, Noe Luczy, 7, Natalee Dean, 7, Liam Eaton, 7, Bodhi Jones, 7, Caden McCulloch, 8, Marcus Edwards, 8, Ella Fuentes, 8, Kendall Cowden, 8, JF Orfiano, 9, Matthew Rogers, 9, Jeoffer Orfiano, 10, Allie Rogers, 10, Troy Dragomanovich, 11, Nathan Dean, 12, and Makenna Pfeiffer, 13.

Trying 50-yard events for the first time were Lucy Brown, 8, Tyler Karpus, 9, Evan Roberson, 8, Troy Schoettgen, 9, Robert Nikiforuk, 8, Leila Stuart, 10, and Noella Shepherd, 7.

Swimming within a second of previous bests were Abby Benton, 6, Jacob Tangenberg, 8, Kyler McCulloch, 11, Kiefer Newman, 12, and Trevin Boyd, 12.
