Sonora’s Bradly Canepa, Bret Harte’s Colin Preston and Calaveras’ Noah Preuss and Nick Quinday finished practice Friday with the North squad in preparation for tonight’s 44th annual Central California Lions All-Star Football Game at Tracy High’s Wayne Schneider Stadium.
The players practiced Monday through Friday at Stagg High School in Stockton near to where they stayed for the week in the dorm rooms at the University of Pacific.
The South practiced and stayed the week at Stanislaus State in Turlock.
Canepa is a physical linebacker and two-time MVP of the Mother Lode League. Preston was the MLL’s top lineman and both Preuss and Quinday were All-MLL first teamers.
The game is being played in Tracy for the fourth straight year after two years at Modesto Junior College. It was held at Pacific’s Stagg Memorial Stadium until 2011.
The Lions game, which began in 1974, is one of the four oldest-running prep football all-star games in California.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m. with pre-game festivities beginning at 6 p.m.
Admission is $10 with children 6-and-under receiving free entry.
The North holds a 24-17-2 series advantage but the South is 3-0-1 in the last four games.
