The stranger among us
To the Editor:
Recall when you see a person by the side of the road looking dirty and neglected, worn down beyond their years, carrying a backpack, a plastic bag, pushing a shopping cart or riding a bicycle with, seemingly all their possessions, that Jesus was a homeless person who said, "The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me,’ ” and “And whoever in the name of a disciple gives to one of these little ones even a cup of cold water to drink, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward."
If Jesus had tried to camp for the night in Sonora (or in many other communities), He would have been told to move on, it’s no longer allowed.
“Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.”
