Loren Keith Elkins


Loren Keith Elkins, beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew and friend to many, passed away on Dec. 11, 2017, at the age of 54. He was born in Yokosuka, Japan, on the United States Naval Base to Lorin James and Kay-Frances Kananiohanai Elkins. The family moved from Yokosuka, Japan, to Tuolumne, where he graduated from Summerville High School in 1981. From there, he settled down in Reno, Nevada.

Keith loved working, spending time with family and friends and playing bingo.

Loren Keith Elkins, beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew and friend to many, passed away on Dec. 11, 2017, at the age of 54. Keith loved working, spending time with family and friends and playing bingo.

Most important to Keith was the love of his family. They all meant the world to him. He will be remembered with such joy. Keith was special to each and every one and to know him was to love him.

Keith is survived by his parents, Lorin James Elkins and Kay-Frances Kananiohanai Creaco; brothers and sisters, Kreg (Julie) Elkins, Lani Kay (Michael) Maloney, Lei Kareen (Tobin) Cooley, Lorne Kirk Elkins and Lanaii Kam Elkins; nieces and nephews, Kyle, Kayla, Lauren, Logan, Kody, Jarred, Kole, Kaci, Kai, Lucas and Lance; grandniece and grandnephews, Leila, Tyler, Noah, JJ and Kimo.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Orvin and Velva Elkins, Frank P. Perkins, Katie A. Key; and nephew, Kameron Jared Elkins.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at the Tuolumne United Methodist Church, 18851 Cedar St., Tuolumne, CA 95379.

A private family burial will be held at Carters Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in his name.
