Marnee was born in Sonora at Sierra Hospital on July 11, 1967. She passed away suddenly and peacefully on Jan. 15, 2018, at Mayfield Heights Hospital in Mayfield Heights, Ohio.

Marnee attended Columbia Elementary School and graduated from Sonora High School in 1985.

She was very active in gymnastics at Sonora High School. Marnee was one of the first athletes to score a perfect 10 on the vault while competing.

She was also an avid young horsewoman. She loved jumping her horse in competitions, winning many awards.

As an adult she worked in the insurance industry for over 20 years.

Marnee moved to Mayfield Heights seven years ago and married the love of her life, Greg Raptis, three years ago.

She is survived by her husband, Greg Raptis, of Mayfield Heights; daughter, Lindsey Whiteman, of Jamestown; parents, Tommy and Sandy Thomason, of Jamestown; sister, Heather Boone, of Jamestown, brothers Greg Powell, of Galt, Mike Thomason, of Soulsbyville, Tom Thomason, of Jamestown; her aunt Judy and uncle Lonnie Wooten, of Los Banos; and cousin, Lori Wooten, of Los Banos; nieces, Jordan Thomason, Aeva Powell, Kendall and Ella Boone, all of Jamestown; nephews, Klayton Powell, Tommy, Richard and Joe Thomason, all of Jamestown.

Marnee was preceded in death by her father, Jim Powell, of Montana; grandparents, Ed and Peggy Cotta, of Los Banos, and Jim and Grace Powell, of Montana, and Dick and Betty Thomason, of Jamestown.

A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced.
