Alberta "Babe" Botfield Lane passed away on Jan. 5, 2018. During World War II, while working at the Pickering box factory in Standard, California, she met her future husband the late James E. Lane. During her marriage she was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and reading. She also loved family gatherings and long drives around Tuolumne County and Nevada.

Alberta is survived by her son and his wife, Randy and Julie Lane, of Vancouver, Washington; her daughter and her husband, Marge and Stan Charotte, of Sonora; her grandson and wife, Jason and Heidi Charotte, of Modesto; her granddaughter and husband, Robin and Kenny Blood, Vancouver; and her great-grandchildren, Natalee and Ethan Charotte, of Modesto; her sister-in-law, Martha Brune; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Jan. 19 at Heuton Chapel in Sonora.
