Read story below
Cristobal F. Robles came to the United States from Mexico in his late teens. He worked in the Bracero Program and in the fields until securing employment in the local lumber mill in Standard, California, near Sonora. He worked in the lumber industry for 30 plus years before retiring.
He married his wife, Maria, on May 10, 1964. They had been married for 53 years when he passed. Together, he and his wife raised four boys who were taught the value of hard work and loyalty. They lived on a two-acre lot off of Tuolumne Road in Sonora, where they often raised farm animals and worked their garden. Cristobal was very old school and set in his ways. However, he was the hardest working and most honest person that you could ever meet.
He enjoyed doing home-improvement projects of different scopes and difficulty throughout the span of his life. Some of these included auto mechanics, carpentry, landscaping, and woodworking. He also enjoyed a good meal. His favorite foods were some traditional Mexican dishes, but he was known to enjoy a good old American cheeseburger and some Chinese food as well.
He is going to truly be missed by all who knew him, but especially by his family and friends. May he rest in peace. We look forward to reuniting with him at the Second coming of Christ.
Cristobal was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Teresa Robles; older brothers, Jesus and Ruben Robles; younger brothers and sister, Sigifredo, Luis and Teresa Robles.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Maria M. Robles; four children, George Robles, Pittsburg, CA, Cristobal Robles, Woodlake, CA, Ruben Robles, Elk Grove, CA, and Cesar (Felicia) Robles, Tulare, CA; grandchildren, Cheyenne and Sierra Robles, of Pittsburg, CA, Clay, Callie, and Crista Robles, Tracy, CA, Ruben J and Erika Robles, Bradenton, FL, and Roman E.
