Gloria Ann (Busch) Fraser, 60, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 12, 2017, surrounded by her family, at her daughter’s home in Folsom, California, following a brief battle with cancer.
Gloria was born in Fresno on Feb. 19, 1957. Her name was chosen by her brothers.
She met David at a dance at Angelo’s Hall in Columbia, and they were married on June 29, 1974, in Lathrop, California. She graduated from Sonora High in 1975. She lived most of her life in Jamestown and served for 16 years as a legal clerk for the Tuolumne County Child Protective Services.
She was a loving and devoted mother to her children, attending nearly every sporting event or activity. Gloria was considered a “Second Mom” to many of her kids’ friends. She had a great sense of humor, leaning on the sarcastic and witty side. If she teased you, it was a good indicator that she liked you. Gloria enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly on horseback for trail rides in Kennedy Meadows and at the beach. She had a deep love of gardening and spent countless hours tending her gardens. She enjoyed reading and sewing. But above all, she was the most passionate about her many grandchildren. She was very proud of them and always shared an achievement or funny story about them. She would respond to Grammy much more quickly than Gloria or Mom.
Gloria is survived by her husband of 43 years, David P. Fraser Jr., of Jamestown; daughter, Katie Pierce, and son-in-law, Rory Pierce, of Wilton; daughter, Elaine Hails, and son-in-law, Cory Hails, of Folsom; son, Davey P. Fraser III, and his fiancé, Jillian Jackson, of Jamestown; grandchildren, Macie Fraser (13), Taison Pierce (13), David “Cowboy” P. Fraser, IV (11), Sydney Pierce (10), Winnie Fraser (9), Amelia Hails (3), and Bonnie-Rose Gloria Fraser (born 4/14/17); brother, Daniel Busch, of Manteca; brother, Robert Busch, of Sonora; brother, Neil Busch and sister-in-law, Cathy Busch, of Dunnigan; sister, Carol Busch, and her partner, Butch Cooper, of Lockeford; and numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Kathryn (King) Busch; her sister-in-law, Theresa (Anastasio) Busch; and her father-in-law, David P. Fraser Sr.
A celebration of life will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at her daughter’s home in Wilton, California, where contributions may be made to “The Gloria A. Fraser Scholarship Fund.”
