Longtime Sonora resident Patti Lynn (VonStetten) Sharrard died Feb. 25 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 54.
She lived in Tuolumne County for more than 50 years, but was born in Castro Valley on Sept. 7, 1959, to Carol Elaine Nute. She moved to Tuolumne County in the early 1960s. She went to Curtis Creek Elementary School when she was younger, then graduated from Sonora Union High School in 1977.
She was a homemaker and devoted mother to her seven children.
She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, shopping at secondhand stores, playing bingo and helped raise her two granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Nute, of Columbia; Juanita and Harold Dutra, of Standard; and great-granny, Daisy Duarte, of Columbia.
She is survived by her sisters, Kim Davis, of Sonora, Tamera Nute, of Texas, and Eileen, Hagen, of Texas; her brothers, Donald Nute, of Columbia, and Michael Nute, of Sonora; aunt Janet Carrera, of Soulsbyville, and other aunts and uncles of Tuolumne County; her daughters, Andrea (Gosney) Kulp, of Jamestown, Isabella, of Sonora; her sons, Sean Starett, of Willow Springs, Anthony VonStetten, of Sonora, Thomas VonStetten, of Sonora, and Tristan and Gregory, of Sonora; and two granddaughters, Khloe Kulp, of Jamestown, and Zoey Kulp, of Jamestown.
There will be a celebration of life for Patti at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 30, at the Willow Springs Clubhouse.

HUNTOON — A viewing for Myra Sue Kester Huntoon, 54, of Tuolumne, who died March 17 at her home, will be held at noon Friday at the Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home Tuolumne Chapel, 18411 Bay Ave. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. A potluck reception will follow at the Tuolumne Me-Wuk Tribal Hall on Mi-Wu Street. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
RHODES — A graveside service for Loren Rhodes, 84, of Groveland, who died Tuesday at his home, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Fremont. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
