TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

8:29 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A man walked around the back field near an elementary school on Greenley Road.

9:30 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A person followed a vehicle in downtown Sonora and on Mono Way because it appeared they were trying to conceal a child in the backseat.

11:02 a.m., trespass/loiter — A transient person started a fire inside an abandoned house on Truckenmiller Road.

1:58 p.m., traffic violations — A man in a car on Restano Way hung out the back window, pointed his cell phone at passing vehicles and pretended to shoot them.

4:32 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A person on Highway 49 thought they saw what looked like legs and a torso on the ground, but an officer determined that it was a tent and tarp.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

6:07 a.m., Twain Harte — A person parked in front of a mailbox on Tuolumne Road North for over an hour.

11:27 a.m., Sonora — A person saw a free phone vendor set up on Cabezut Road.

11:55 a.m., Sonora — A person on Campo Seco Road said an area burn pile stunk and the flames were too high.

8:48 p.m., Sonora — A Wards Ferry Road resident believed she was hallucinating because her roommate was poisoning her.

8:06 p.m., Sonora — Amy Marie Gallagher, 30, of the 26900 block of Italian Bar Road, Twain Harte, was booked after an arrest on the 13700 block of Mono Way.

3:32 p.m., Tuolumne — James Joseph Armbright, 26, of the 19400 block of Mi Wu Street, Tuolumne, was booked on suspicion of carrying a concealed dirk or dagger and misdemeanor charges reckless driving, driving while license is suspended for DUI and a probation violation after an arrest on the 18300 block of Tuolumne Road.

12:44 p.m., Arnold — Vandalism was reported in the area of Moran Road.

6:30 p.m., Angels Camp — Thomas Andrew Kempton, 52, of the 300 block of North Baker Street, was booked on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury and misdemeanor charges disorderly conduct after an arrest at his home.

11:16 p.m., Murphys — John Richard Valdez, 36, of the 100 block of Mitchler Avenue, was booked on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury after an arrest on the 100 block of Highway 4.
