The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

TUESDAY

7:49 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A person dumped at least 10 bags of personal trash near a Mono Way business.

8:02 a.m., suspicious circumstances — Two men were seen drinking beer on a bench in a North Washington Street park.

9:26 a.m., theft — An 18 inch chain was stolen from a back gate at a Stockton Road building.

12:51 p.m., theft — A man was arrested at a Sanguinetti Road business after he shoved a bottle of tequila down his pants.

3:49 p.m., fraudulent activities — A credit card was used fraudulently for a $978.43 charge at a Sanguinetti Road business.

9:18 p.m., public intoxication — A very drunk man on Stockton Road almost fell down as he walked home.

9:19 p.m., controlled substances — Two syringes were found on Linoberg Street.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

TUESDAY

12:07 a.m., Tuolumne — A be-on-the-lookout was issued for a driver possibly under the influence of marijuana.

7:14 a.m., Chinese Camp — A dead deer was found on Highway 120 near the construction of a bridge.

9:28 a.m., Tuolumne — A Ponderosa Way resident smelled heavy smoke in the area.

2:53 p.m., Twain Harte — A man confronted a person taking photos of license plates in front of a Fuller Road business, and the man responded that he was from France and taking the photos for a project.

3:42 p.m., Sonora — A radio was stolen from a pickup truck parked on Awahanee Road.

8:37 p.m., Sonora — A short homeless man went to a Lyons Bald Mountain Road residence and asked for water because he said he had been chased by a bear.

6:52 p.m., West Point — A person trespassed on a Highway 26 residence.

7:25 p.m., Copperopolis — An intoxicated man was involved in an argument with his Stagecoach Road neighbors.

7:37 p.m., Vallecito — Trash was dumped on Carson Street.

9:33 p.m., Paloma — A Paloma Road resident saw bright flashes of light in the distance every 15 minutes.
