A Sonora man was arrested at his Elm Street residence Wednesday for the third time in six months on drug possession and sales charges.
The arrest was made following the execution of a search warrant by the Tuolumne Narcotics Team.
There was only one person at the residence when Tuolumne County Sheriff’s deputies and members of the narcotics team entered Wednesday morning, a man who was out on bail for multiple pending drug sales cases.
Law enforcement officers discovered aluminum trays containing more than 650 pills, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and ammunition inside the residence, a Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office news release stated.
Fabian Ramirez, 30, was arrested and booked into the Tuolumne County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, maintaining a drug house, possession of drug paraphernalia, felon in possession of ammunition and committing a felony while out on bail.
Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Andrea Benson said Ramirez previously was arrested at the residence during the service of other search warrants over the summer.
Ramirez’s most recent arrest was on Sept. 14 on Norlin Street in Sonora for possession of a controlled substance for sale and committing a felony while out on bail.
Prior to that, Ramirez and three additional suspects were arrested July 19 at a residence on the first block of Elm Street following the service of another warrant by the Tuolumne Narcotics Team.
Found during the search were 1 ounce of methamphetamine, drug-use paraphernalia, evidence of drug sales and other illegal contraband.
On July 19, Ramirez was booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale, keeping a place to sell controlled substances, committing a felony while out on bail, criminal conspiracy and misdemeanor charges possession of a controlled substance and possession of a narcotic controlled substance.
In June, the home was being surveilled by the Tuolumne Narcotics Team when Ramirez fled. An electronic monitoring device attached to Ramirez led deputies later that day to a Stockton Road shopping center.
A subsequent search warrant issued at the residence identified several items related to the use, possession and sale of drugs.
