TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

8:34 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A person believed that someone broke into archives at a North Washington Street business during the night, but a responding officer determined that wind had blown a door open.

12:02 p.m., theft — A woman was arrested on a theft charge and an outstanding warrant after she took a pair of designer jeans to a South Washington Street business’ dressing room and climbed out the back window.

1:55 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A person on East Jackson Street was concerned that someone had misrepresented themselves over the phone as a police department sergeant and told her there was a warrant for her arrest unless she purchased green dot cards.

8:15 p.m., theft — Two speakers were stolen from a Sanguinetti Road business by two people who fled through an emergency exit.

9:42 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A man in a Sanguinetti Road parking lot cursed loudly and swung his cane at parked vehicles.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

8:40 a.m., Sonora — A fence and lock were cut at an Industrial Drive yard.

11:16 a.m., Sonora — Someone backed a vehicle into a golf cart in front of a Soulsbyville Road business.

5:10 p.m., Columbia — A South Airport Road resident found a bong and cigarettes in his son’s room and asked a deputy to come out and counsel the juvenile.

9:37 p.m., Groveland — For over two hours, a man left his room at a Main Street business every five minutes to grab something from his vehicle.

11:57 p.m., Big Oak Flat — A tree blocked the entrance to Old Priest Grade.

11:15 p.m., Sonora — Matthew Bret Wolff, 53, of the 3400 block of Spring Street, Paso Robles, was booked after an arrest on the 22100 block of Parrotts Ferry Road.

Felony bookings

WEDNESDAY

1:23 a.m., Sonora — Matthew Dale Miller, 31, of the 21000 block of Phoenix Lake Road, was booked on suspicion of felony driving under the influence with three or more priors and misdemeanor charges driving under the influence, driving without a functioning ignition interlock device, driving while license was suspended for DUI and probation violation after an arrest on the 14500 block of Mono Way.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

3:44 a.m., Valley Springs — Malfunctioning lights at a Baldwin Street residence disturbed a person at a neighboring home.

7:40 a.m., Mokelumne Hill — Mail was stolen from a Jesus Maria Road residence.

10:53 a.m., Arnold — Shots were heard in the area of Rainbow Court.

8:55 p.m., San Andreas — A caller said there was an ongoing issue with someone sleeping on a Treat Avenue property.

10:41 p.m., Douglas Flat — A Main Street resident may have been the victim of a telephone scam.

9:20 p.m., San Andreas — Casey James Martin, 26, of the 1000 block of Lilac Drive, Arnold, was booked on suspicion of felony probation violation after an arrest on Mountain Ranch Road.

7:23 p.m., Angels Camp — Martin Vincent Lorenzo Jr., 46, of the 500 block of Foy Street, Modesto, was booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale, transporting a controlled substance, possession of a firearm while a felon, possession of ammunition while prohibited and possession of a controlled substance while armed after an arrest on Murphys Grade Road.
