The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

FRIDAY

7:51 a.m., suspicious circumstances — Mail was found inside an Elm Street resident’s trash can that did not belong to her.

10:53 a.m., animal complaints — A dog was stuck in a drainage ditch on Shaws Flat Road.

10:56 a.m., miscellaneous harassment — A woman at a South Washington Street business received a harassing letter.

11:21 a.m., traffic accidents — An older female pedestrian was hit by a vehicle at the corner of North Washington and Elkin streets.

3:50 p.m., domestic disputes — A woman went into a South Washington Street business and asked a teller to call the police because her son punched her in the face and she didn’t feel comfortable contacting law enforcement at home.

6:40 p.m., trespass/loiter — A woman on South Washington Street said a man attempted to sell drugs to her son.

7:26 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A man walked through a Summit Avenue backyard and knocked on a woman’s backdoor in an attempt to sell her frozen meat.

SATURDAY

1:15 a.m., public peace, fight, disorderly conduct — A man attempted to fight with women outside a South Washington Street business after an argument.

5:21 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A Sanguinetti Road business complained that a man in a wheelchair stole items from the business every day.

1:53 p.m., public peace, fight, disorderly conduct — Two or three people yelled at a man with a shovel behind an Old Wards Ferry Road business.

8:13 p.m., liquor violations — A man and woman drank out of open containers in front of a Stockton Road business.

9:25 p.m., public peace, fight, disorderly conduct — A band played loud music at the same time a person played loud music on a speaker on Shaws Flat Road.

11:10 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A woman slept in bushes near a room at a Stockton Road hotel.

SUNDAY

8:51 a.m., theft — A portion of a kayak on top of a vehicle on North Stewart Street was stolen during the night.

10:19 a.m., animal complaints — A man on Stockton Road requested an ambulance for his dog because the animal was “not acting right.”

10:47 a.m., assault — A person behind an Old Wards Ferry Road business heard a woman at a transient camp yelling.

10:48 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A man slept behind a train engine on Southgate Drive.

7:35 p.m., miscellaneous codes — A person in a motorhome took a hose from a county building on Fairview Lane.

7:50 p.m., trespass/loiter — A heavyset woman sat and made strange noises at a picnic table on North Forest Road.

MONDAY

5:27 a.m., miscellaneous codes — A person in a motorhome on Stockton Road used the electrical utilities from an old building.

6:48 a.m., theft — Two men were seen stealing two chainsaws and a blower, and then stashing the items in a creek bed on Woods Creek Drive. A responding officer was not able to locate the suspects, but found the property and returned it to the rightful owner.

12:17 p.m., lost, found property — A child’s bike was left on an Alpine Lane property for more than a week.

5:22 p.m., burglary — Three men were seen climbing out a window of the historic Sonora Dome on South Barretta street and walking down the “big stairs” above the street.

7:21 p.m., assault — A person postured a fighting stance toward someone on North Shepherd Street, but no fight actually occurred.

FRIDAY

1:20 a.m., Groveland — Several people camped in a tent on a Main Street property without permission from the owner.

6:40 a.m., Jamestown — A half-naked woman staggered on Highway 108.

8:24 a.m., Sonora — A man dressed in black and barefoot walked down Highway 49 as his pants fell below his knees.

10:12 a.m., Pinecrest — A kayak was stolen from where it was moored near the handicap boat ramp on Pinecrest Lake Road.

11:09 a.m., Groveland — A Smith Station Road resident received threats from a man who claimed he was coming from Nevada to kill him.

12:49 p.m., Jamestown — A Peppermint Circle resident received a fraudulent charge on his credit card in the amount of $1,143.98.
2:49 p.m., Tuolumne — A trash dump made of drugs, a cookstove, a backpack and plastic jugs of smelly chemicals were found on Cottonwood Road.

7:24 p.m., Tuolumne — A man confronted someone he believed to be an intoxicated driver. The driver threw a bottle of alcohol at him and left.

11:43 p.m., Sonora — A Madrone Circle resident said his neighbors were communicating with flashlights.

SATURDAY

12:29 a.m., Mi-Wuk Village — A man jumped out of the bushes on Highway 108 and flagged down an off-duty fire captain to tell him there was a fire in the area. The man then ran into the bushes and could not be found.

8:21 a.m., Sonora — A woman on Gibbs Drive attempted to kick a vehicle as it drove past her.

1:19 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman at a Twain Harte Drive hotel brought homeless men into her room and provided them with alcohol.

4:25 p.m., Sonora — Juveniles and their parents shot airsoft guns into a shed on Oxbow Lane North and the pellets rolled into the street.

SUNDAY

1:44 a.m., Tuolumne — A man in dark clothing smoked a drug in the side parking lot of a Tuolumne Road North building.

3:17 a.m., Sonora — A woman walked a dog on Chukar Circle, yelled and sat in the middle of the street.

10:40 a.m., Sonora — Hunting gear and softball equipment were stolen from a vehicle parked on Crestview Drive.

2:08 p.m., Twain Harte — A man in camouflage clothing sat at a bench on Fuller Road, then “jumped around acting crazy” and sweated profusely.

MONDAY

8:04 a.m., Sonora — A person on Tuolumne Road detected “the smell of death” near an abandoned house.

8:39 a.m., Tuolumne — A person said there was a homeless camp with a lot of trash near a campground on Cottonwood Road.

2:59 p.m., Sonora — A purse was stolen out of a vehicle on Tuolumne Road while the owner delivered a pizza.

11:26 p.m., Jamestown — A man loitered near the pumps at a Highway 108 gas station and approached drivers of different cars.

11:40 p.m., Jamestown — A camera was stolen from a McKibbin Drive property and a person left behind a knife.

11:08 p.m., Sonora — Barrett Arnold Lawrence, 61, of the 18600 block of Woodham Carne Road, was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence and obstructing a peace officer after an arrest on Highway 108 and South Washington Street.

11:29 p.m., Sonora — Jaswant Singh, 29, unknown address, was booked after an arrest on Highway 108 and Stockton Road.

1:15 a.m., Tuolumne — Dale Gene Biehle, 46, of the 14800 block of Blue Bell West Road, Sonora, was booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale and misdemeanor charges destroying evidence and driving with a suspended license after an arrest on Pine Street.

2:09 a.m., Sonora — Shawn Thomas Finigan, 24, of the 24100 block of Golf Links Drive, Twain Harte, was booked on suspicion of negligently discharging a firearm, assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor charges carrying a loaded firearm in public after an arrest on School Street.
