The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

7:59 a.m., animal complaints — A possum was sick near Calaveras Way.

10:44 a.m., controlled substances — Two transient men stood below a building on Morning Star Drive and smoked a substance out of a glass pipe.

1:14 p.m., reckless driving — A woman was tailgated on Stockton Road and berated by the driver of another vehicle.

5:39 p.m., unclassified — A vehicle was disabled on Restano Way.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

10:57 a.m., Sonora — A woman was scared because an unwelcome guest came to her Highway 49 residence.

12:03 p.m., Sonora — Someone broke into a Lower Quail Mine Road residence after the homeowner died.

3:02 p.m., Sonora — Someone stole a diamond necklace and diamond bracelet worth up to $10,000 from a Sylva Lane residence.

11:17 p.m., Tuolumne — A Main Street resident believed his neighbors were shooting a firearm.

WEDNESDAY

6:50 p.m., Sonora — John Blewford High, 48, of the 2900 block of Beaver Way, Copperopolis, was booked on suspicion of willful infliction of corporal injury and threatening crime with the intent to terrorize after an arrest on the first block of North Lower Sunset.

7:34 p.m., Jamestown — Jennifer Fay Mainville, 33, of the 20200 block of Jamestown Road, was booked on suspicion of being in possession of pepper spray while a felon after an arrest on the 19000 block of Rawhide Road.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

7:17 a.m., Vallecito — An unwelcome person was in the area of Angels Road.

8:32 a.m., San Andreas — A vehicle was parked in a lot on Main Street for over a month.

10:15 a.m., San Andreas — A customer refused to leave a West Saint Charles Street business.

6:26 p.m., Copperopolis — A backpack stolen on Poker Flat Road was recovered but cash was missing.

WEDNESDAY

10:05 a.m., San Andreas — Thomas Charles Jones, 26, of the 8000 block of Josephine Lane, Valley Springs, was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence and additional misdemeanor charges driving with a suspended license and giving false identification after an arrest on Mountain Ranch Road.
