Wine enjoyment has become a popular lifestyle choice as interest in international wines continues to grow.
This October, through a combination of lecture and wine tasting, A Columbia College wine education class will explore a number of global grape types, regional differences and winemaker influences. With an emphasis on popular wine regions from around the world, we’ll have fun with sensory evaluations, current trends and wine relationships with each country’s foods. Participants must be 21 years old.
Instructor Tom Bender has taught wine- and hospitality management-related classes at Columbia College for more than 35 years. He currently manages an extensive wine department and popular wine bar in Modesto in addition to making, and writing about, wine.
The class will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday nights, Oct. 10, 17 and 24 on the college campus.
