Garden problem clinic,
plant sale set for June 24
The Calaveras County Master Gardeners’ Demonstration Garden will present an Open Garden day June 24 at the garden, 891 Mountain Ranch Road in San Andreas.
The garden will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The subject of the day will be a landscape and garden problem-solving clinic, and Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer home-gardening questions.
A plant sale from 10 a.m. to noon will include a variety of heirloom vegetables.
When the garden is not open, home gardening assistance is offered through the Master Gardener help line at (209) 754-2880.
Fiber artists meet July 8
The Studio 49 Fiber Arts Group will meet from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 8 at the Tuolumne County Library.
Anyone interested in fiber arts — spinning, weaving, knitting, crocheting — is welcome.
The library is at 540 Greenley Road in Sonora. This will be the group’s last meeting until September.

Pumpkin and Zucchini Weigh-In set in October
Farms of Tuolumne County will sponsor its first Pumpkin and Zucchini Weigh-In in October and is encouraging gardeners to plant seeds in early may.
The weigh-in will be held Oct. 21 at Hurst Ranch on Highway 108 in Jamestown. The ranch will open at 10 am., and weigh-ins will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Three cash prizes will be awarded — $200, $100 and $50 for pumpkin winners, and $100, $50 and $25 for zucchini winners.
Any seeds can be used.
