Native Daughters to host annual vets’ dinner
Ruby Parlor No. 46 of the Native Daughters of the Golden West will hold its annual Veterans’ Day Dinner on Saturday at the Native Sons Hall, 389 Main St., in Murphys.
Doors will open at 5 p.m., and festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a flag ceremony performed by Boy Scout Troop No. 343.
A spaghetti dinner, including wine and dessert, will be served. The dinner is free to veterans and cost $10 per person for all others. Proceeds from the dinner will go toward veterans’ welfare projects.

YLI to benefit from pancake breakfast
The Young Ladies Institute Patricia No. 79 will benefit from a flapjack fundraiser at Applebee’s in Sonora on Saturday.
The event will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. at the restaurant, 851 Sanguinetti Road.
Cost is $5 per person. Tickets are available at the door or by calling (209) 532-5955.
Teddy Bear Tea set Sunday at Frog Town
Soroptimist International of Calaveras County will celebrate its 20th annual Teddy Bear Tea Sunday at Frog Town in Angels Camp.
The event will feature crafts, prize drawings, jugglers, a balloon lady, visits and pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus and costumed characters.
The tea will include a “high tea” and local entertainment.
Reservations are required by noon Tuesday by calling (209) 753-9700. Cost is $15 for children 12 and younger and $27 for all others. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
Proceeds will benefit Soroptimist programs for women and children in Calaveras County.
Women Saluting Women lunch set Nov. 14
Soroptimist International of Twain Harte will host its ninth annual Women Saluting Women luncheon Nov. 14 at the Twain Harte Golf Club.
The event will honor Tuolumne County women veterans, who will be guests of the club at the luncheon.
Check-in is at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch at noon.
The club wishes to include all women veterans and those currently serving in the Armed Forces. Veterans or anyone who knows a veteran is asked to call Jan Hiebert at (209) 536-9227 or (209) 559-1201, or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org to make a reservation, which are due today.
The club will have a special table on which to display memorabilia, which guests are invited to bring.
Men are welcome, too.
Dessert Auction set
Nov. 21 in Twain Harte
Soroptimist International of Twain Harte will hold its annual Dessert Auction Nov. 21 at the Twain Harte Golf Club.
The event, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., will include lunch and auction of home-baked pies, cakes, cookies, holiday treats and decorative times.
Cost is $20 per person and includes lunch.
