Taste of Calaveras Saturday in Murphys

The annual Taste of Calaveras will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Ironstone Vineyards, 1894 Six Mile Road, Murphys.

The event will highlight the wine, food, art and culture of Calaveras County with Calaveras businesses and products.

Tickets cost $50 in advance or $60 at the gate. All ticket-holders will receive a commemorative wine glass, wine and food tasting and live entertainment.

Foster youth benefit from breakfast

An Omelette Breakfast on April 29 will benefit foster youth in Tuolumne County.

The event, presented by Leadership Tuolumne County’s Class of 2017, will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Posse Clubhouse, 19130 Rawhide Road, in Jamestown.

Tickets cost $10 per person, and the meal will include a made-to-order omelette, croissant, coffee, juice and more, prepared by Black Oak Casino Chef Ed Wickman and team, Chef Dave Ingram and Columbia College culinary students.

The event also will include a prize drawing and no-host bar.

Tickets are available at the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce, 222 S Shepherd St., in Sonora. Checks should be made out to Leadership Tuolumne County. Tickets will also be available at the door.

Chamber plans
first chili cook-off

The Twain Harte Area Chamber of Commerce will host a Chili Cook-Off May 27 in Meadow Plaza in downtown Twain Harte.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will include children’s activities at nearby Eproson Park.

Cooking will begin at 8 a.m., and tasting will begin at 11:30 a.m.

The chamber is also seeking vendors. Cost for a booth is $12.50 for chamber members and $25 for non-members.

Twain Harte a la Carte set for May 20

Soroptimist International of Twain Harte will hold its 21st annual Twain Harte a la Carte May 20 in downtown Twain Harte.

Wine and food will be offered, along with a silent auction with prizes including baskets, trips and gift certificates, opportunity raffles for a wagon, wine and more, live music and a live auction for items including a Steph Curry jersey.
