Murphys Celtic club to co-host Dec. 12 Irish Yuletide Feast

The Western Sierra Celtic Society and chef Jason Gill will present a traditional Irish winter holiday dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 12 at Murphys Irish Pub, 415 Main St., in downtown Murphys.

Cost for the meal is $27 per person, and the Irish menu will offer a choice of roast beef with Guinness Irish beer au jus or chicken pot pie, served with an Irish sausage, potatoes Colcannon and mixed vegetables. There will be an Irish dessert for an additional charge.

The club will forego its usual cultural program to allow members of the public to meet members and learn about its year-round social activities.

Founded in June, the nonprofit Irish-Scottish society meets at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the pub. Membership is open to all, regardless of family ancestry.

Reservations for the dinner are required by emailing the pub staff at cheers@goirishinmurphys.com.
