Master Food Preserver training set
The University of California Cooperative Extension, Central Sierra, will hold Master Food Preserver program training beginning in February.
Informational meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Amador County GSA Building, 12200B Airport Road in Jackson; at 10 a.m. Jan. 6 at the same address; and at 10 a.m. Jan. 20 at the Calaveras Senior Center, 956 Mountain Ranch Road in San Andreas.
The meetings will provide information about the educational events provided to the community by Master Food Preserver program volunteers, the training required to get certified, and the annual requirements for active members.
Applications are due by Jan. 28.
The trainings will begin Feb. 28 and will be followed by two classes a month through June. Classes will be held at the UCCE office in Jackson.
Weavers, spinners meet Dec. 12
The Mother Lode Weavers and Spinners Guild will meet Dec. 12 at the clubhouse at Rambling Hills Estates, 23732 Parrotts Ferry Road in Columbia.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m., and visitors are welcome.

Fiber artists meet Dec. 9 in Sonora
The Studio 49 Fiber Arts Group will meet Dec. 9 at the Tuolumne County Library, 480 Greenley Road in Sonora.
The meeting will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and anyone interested in fiber arts — spinning, waving, knitting, crocheting or any related art — is invited to attend.

Needle group meets second Mondays
The Golden Needles group at Sierra Bible Church meets the second Monday of each month at 15171 Tuolumne Road, Sonora.
The group crochets and knits hats, scarves, lap robes, afghans, baby blankets and caps for food pantry clients, seniors at Avalon, Foothill Pregnancy Center and homeless people in San Francisco.
