Gem, mineral Swap and Sale today in Angels
The Calaveras Gem and Mineral Society will hold a Swap and Sale today at its clubhouse, 2500 Meacham Ranch Road in Angels Camp.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will offer children’s activities.

Open Garden Day
focus on family crafts
Tuolumne County Master Gardeners today will host a Family Craft Day in the Garden at its demonstration garden in Sonora.
The garden will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and activities will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Projects will include holiday swags, mason jar snow globes, miniature Christmas trees, pinecone bird feeders, pinecone reindeer, corn husk dolls and more.
This will be the last Open Garden Day until February.
The garden is at 251 S. Barretta St., in Sonora, on the Dario Cassina High School Campus. Activities are free.

ABCs of bonsai
Mother Lode Bonsai Club will offer the basic ABCs of bonsai today immediately following the club’s monthly meeting at 10 a.m. at the San Andreas Central Library, 1299 Gold Hunter Road (off Mountain Ranch Road) in San Andreas.
There is no charge to attend.
The public is encouraged to bring questions and concerns about their bonsai trees for answers by a number of more experienced club mentors and senseis, or teachers.
Mother Lode Bonsai Club members come from Amador, Calaveras and Tuolumne counties and the Central Valley.
Everyone is invited to attend regardless of levels of experience.

Calaveras County Garden Club meets Wednesday
William Welch will be the guest speaker on Wednesday at the meeting of the Calaveras County Garden Club.
Welch is known as “Bill the Bulb Baron,” and he will discuss bulbs and offer some for sale.
Check-in will begin at 10 a.m. followed by the meeting at 10:30 a.m. at Camps Restaurant at Greenhorn Creek in Angels Camp.
After the speaker, lunch will be served at a cost of $22 per person. Reservations are due by Nov. 1 by calling (209) 890-0323.

Fiber artists meet Nov. 11 in Sonora
The Studio 49 Fiber Arts Group will meet from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Tuolumne County Library, 480 Greenley Road in Sonora.
Anyone interested in spinning, waving, knitting, crocheting or other fiber arts is welcome.
