Oktoberfest set Saturday in Twain Harte
Eproson Park in Twain Harte on Saturday will filled with live music, German food and more during the 12th annual Oktoberfest presented by the Twain Harte Area Chamber of Commerce.
The day will begin with artisan and craft vendor booths opening at 10 a.m.
The food and beer tasting will begin at 11 a.m. and will feature 24 craft beers, wine and German food under a large tent. Music will be performed from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. by the Black Irish Band, and from 2 to 4 p.m. by Agent.
Cost for the food and beer tasting is $40 per person or $75 per couple and includes a commemorative beer mug.
The otherwise free event will also include a children’s play area with bounce house, and a hot dog lunch for children will be available for $5 per child.
Tuolumne County Transit will provide transportation from the Twain Harte Market upper parking area to the park every 15 minutes.

Aaron Moss, general manager of Black Oak Casino, will guest speaker Tuesday at a meeting of the Sonora Sons in Retirement Branch 136.
The meeting will begin with a social hour at 11 a.m. followed by lunch at noon at the Sonora Elks Lodge, 100 Elk Drive in Sonora. Cost for lunch is $14 per person; members and guests of members only.

to meet at cemetery
Pat Perry will be guest speaker Monday at a meeting of the Tuolumne County Genealogical Society.
Perry will do a follow-up to the group’s September program on Sonora’ Jewish community with a tour of the Jewish Cemetery. Participants should meet at the cemetery, on Yaney Avenue next to the Tuolumne County Jail, at 2 p.m.
Calaveras Republicans meet Wednesday
The Calaveras County Republican Party will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Fireside Room at Greenhorn Creek, 711 McCauley Ranch Road in Angels Camp.
Guest speakers will include Calaveras County Sheriff Rick DiBasilio and Lily Mackay of the Millennial Review.
All Republicans are welcome to attend.
