Golden Regiment to benefit from Big Macs
The Golden Regiment Band on Wednesday will hold a fundraising event at McDonald’s, 1261 Mono Way, in Sonora (the one nearest Safeway).
A portion of all sales made between 5 and 7 p.m. will be donated to the band.
The Twain Harte Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking craft vendors for its 12th annual Oktoberfest, slated for Saturday at Eproson Park in Twain Harte.
Vendors will be open beginning at 10 a.m., the Oktoberfest tent opens at 11 a.m., and everything shuts down at 4 p.m.
Live music will be performed by the Black Irish Band from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and by Agent until closing.
Traditional German food will be served under the tent, and there will be more than 25 craft breweries on hand for tasting. Wine will also be available.
Cost for a booth is $37.50 for the day.

and Bites set Oct. 14
The Sonora Sunrise Rotary Club will present Barrels, Brews and Bites Oct. 14 at Railtown 1897 State Historic Park.
The event, 2 to 5 p.m. will feature wines from local wineries, a home-brewers competition, gourmet food pairings and live music.
Tickets cost $45 per person pre-sale (through Oct. 8) or $55 the week of the event.

Fine food, wine, cider tasting planned
Sampling of fine food, wines and ciders will be offered Oct. 24 when Black Oak Casino Resort and the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce present A Sip of Wine, A Taste of Food and a Touch of Business.
The event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seven Sisters at Black Oak Casino Resort in Tuolumne.
A silent auction also will be held.
