There to help

To the editor:

The staff at the Social Security office is No.1. They will help you any way they can. Mr. Strader may have a problem. As far as I know, there has never been a problem with security. I have known the officer for five years. The whole office is there to help you. Do not bring a bad attitude.

Buy local

To the editor:

Like many of you, I admire those so willing to donate their time and money to worthy causes. I try to do my part, and it helps that my employer encourages and supports community participation.

Do you find yourself wishing you could do more to support the various charities, youth? I have a way you can and it’s very simple. Buy local!

Look at the list of contributors, sponsors and supporters of these deserving programs and you will see local companies at the top of the list. When you buy from these companies your purchase allows for more donations. Which means you are helping support local causes. How cool is that? Think about it.

All-American

To the editor:

I get it! I voted for him and include him in my daily prayers — but, he is the first “biracial” president. His father donated sperm, then abandoned him. He was raised by a Caucasian mother and Caucasian grandparents.

The media needs to validate this. Refer to him as “biracial,” which he is, or stop referring to race at all. He’s an American — period!

The old racism — “If a person has one drop of black blood, he is black” — should be long gone. The only times I’ve heard Obama mention race, he’s included all his parentage. It is up to him to correct the media.

I also wonder how his Caucasian grandfather feels. Left out and ignored, I would think. His daughter gave birth to Obama. Obama is half white and we should embrace his entire bloodline. Stop with the race label already! Using this misnomer denigrates who he is — All-American.
