TUESDAY

10 a.m., Tuolumne — A man found a bicycle along Tuolumne Road and left it for a deputy to pick up at a convenience store on Tuolumne Road.

12:34 p.m., Crystal Falls — Three tires were stolen from a vehicle parked on the 21600 block of American River Drive.

2:43 p.m., Tuolumne — A woman found a wallet on First Avenue and turned it over to the sheriff's department.

Felony bookings

YESTERDAY

11:10 p.m., Columbia — Dan Edward Spiller, 22, homeless, Sonora, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of less than an ounce of marijuana after an arrest on Yankee Hill Road, Columbia.

Two sheriff's deputies were patrolling when two men walking along Yankee Hill Road stuck out their thumbs for a ride, a sheriff's department report stated. The deputies stopped their car and asked the men if they needed help or a ride.

During the conversation, a deputy asked if he could search Spiller, to which Spiller agreed. A deputy found what he suspected to be methamphetamine and marijuana in Spiller's pockets.

Spiller remained in custody this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Vance Garner Varela, 37, 18200 block of Willow Street, Tuolumne, booked at 12:45 a.m. today after arrest on Shaws Flat Road south of Highway 49, Sonora.

Brandon Mitchell Bloom, 22, 17000 block of Mono Vista Road, Sonora, booked at 2:55 a.m. today after arrest on Stewart and William streets, Sonora.

2:15 a.m., theft — A transient woman said a man took $13 out of her hand, walked away and refused to give it back.

8:06 a.m., drug arrest — A 16-year-old boy was cited and released for allegedly having less than an ounce of marijuana on Morning Star Drive.

8:08 a.m., burglary — A man said someone stole several items from his pickup on Snell Street. Stolen were speakers, a compact disc player, 40 compact discs, a CB radio and a jack, all valued at $1,060.

8:48 a.m., theft — A woman said two people were banging on her door and windows on the 200 block of Hospital Road between 1 and 3 a.m.

9:15 a.m., threats — A man said someone was threatening to hit him with a baseball bat on the 500 block of South Washington Street.

10:58 a.m., traffic accident — A non-injury crash was reported on South Green Street.

10:59 a.m., theft — A man said items were taken from his car on Summit Avenue.

11:26 a.m., harassment — A woman said a man she was to testify against in court was harassing her.

12:23 p.m., traffic accident — A non-injury crash was reported at the intersection of East Bradford Avenue and South Stewart Street.

12:24 p.m., public peace — A woman on the 200 block of Hospital Road said a man she knew by name was banging on the door and windows of her home trying to get in.

1:36 p.m., theft — A man on the 40 block of North Stewart Street said a woman stole five $20 bills from him.

2:40 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A man said a woman and a small child were hunkered down in back of parked vehicles at an undisclosed location. The woman told the caller someone was after them.

3:50 p.m., public peace — A caller said five or six girls were "challenging" another girl at the Sonora Skatepark on Greenley Road.

3:54 p.m., traffic accident — A minor injury crash was reported on Highway 49.

5:59 p.m., harassment — A woman said she found a "strange letter" on the windshield of her vehicle at her workplace on the 100 block of Hospital Road.

7:13 p.m., traffic accident — A car vs. pedestrian accident was reported earlier in the day in the parking lot of a business on the 1000 block of Mono Way. One person was taken to a Sonora hospital after complaining of pain.

7:33 p.m., suspicious circumstances — An unknown caller said a man was sitting in a small red car, "drooped" over the steering wheel for the past 10 minutes, with the engine running on Sunset Street.

9:44 p.m., fight — An unknown caller reported a fight on the 100 block of East Bradford Avenue. The caller was unsure if it was a physical fight.

YESTERDAY

10:22 a.m., Sonora — A fire was reported at Tuolumne General Hospital on the 100 block of Hospital Road. The fire was caused by an electrical short within a wall heater. Dollar damage was estimated at $20. Sonora City Fire Department, California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and Tuolumne County Fire responded.

8:38 a.m., Angels Camp — A caller on the 10600 block of MJB Ranch Road said a woman threw a computer out a window.

10:11 a.m., Burson — A woman and the owner of a pitbull found running loose at Camanche Mobile Home Park got into a verbal argument. The woman said the dog ran at her.

10:44 a.m., San Andreas — A California Department of Forestry and Fire Prevention crew found what was initially believed to be a pipe bomb on Highway 49 south of Gold Strike Road. A deputy determined the pipe was not a bomb.

1:16 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — A caller said a sign was stolen from Hosford Real Estate office on the 8300 block of Main Street.

1:17 p.m., Valley Springs — A woman found a child's backpack, a jacket and a pool skimmer on the 6800 block of Baldwin Street and turned them in to the sheriff's department.

5:17 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — Two mini-storage units at Hertzig Storage on the 9200 block of East Highway 26 were burglarized.

5:48 p.m., Rail Road Flat — A caller said two people were living in a condemned trailer on the 70 block of Black Oak Drive where there were no utilities. A deputy could not locate the people.

11 a.m. Rail Road Flat — A 47-year-old Rail Road Flat man booked on suspicion of felony spousal battery after arrest at his home. He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $50,000 bail.

12:45 p.m., Angels Camp — A 26-year-old Angels Camp woman booked on suspicion of felony spousal battery after an arrest at her home. She remained in custody this morning in lieu of $50,000 bail.

5 p.m., Angels Camp — Russell D. Cline, 21, 300 block of South Main Street, Angels Camp, booked on a warrant charging him with possessing a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and probation violation after arrest on the 400 block of South Main Street, Angels Camp. He remained held this morning without bail.

7:05 p.m., Jenny Lind — Shaun Robert Williams, 33, 7700 block of Jenny Lind Road, booked on suspicion of damaging a telephone line, misdemeanor petty theft and contempt of court after an arrest at his home. He was cited and released.

TODAY

1:06 a.m., Valley Springs — Geoffrey Alan Nichols, 26, 300 block of Sequoia, Valley Springs, booked on suspicion of making criminal threats and violating a stay-away order after an arrest at his home. He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $35,000 bail.
