STOCKTON The Tioga High School girls' basketball team opened its Mountain Valley league season with a 35-21 loss at Stockton Christian on Monday. The Timberwolves, who had not played since Dec. 19, came out cold in the first half. After a scoreless first quarter, Tioga only managed four points in the second quarter as they trailed 17-4 at halftime "It was rough on both sides," Tioga coach Jim McClure said. "We just couldn't make a shot." The T-Wolves (0-7) rebounded with 17 points in the second half, including an 11-9 edge in the third quarter. Shelbi Bodine paced Tioga with seven points while freshman Kim Holt scored five in her varsity debut. Tioga hosts Elliot Christian on Jan. 13. |
