Beauchamp Jr.

June 12, 1937-April 8, 2004

Longtime Sonora resident Harvey Dimond Beauchamp Jr. died April 8 at a Sonora hospital. He was 66.

He was born in Hayward and had lived in Sonora for 49 years. He owned and operated Beau-champ Construction for 40 years.

His family said he liked fishing and enjoyed spending time at the cabin that he built in Strawberry. He also loved to operate heavy equipment, his family added.

Mr. Beauchamp is survived by his wife of 49 years, Diane Beauchamp of Sonora; sons, Dave Beauchamp of Twain Harte and Matt Beauchamp of Sonora; an aunt, Wilma Willets of Santa Barbara; and two sisters, Audre Beauchamp of Santa Cruz and Carol Rundle of Sonora.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Harvey Beau-champ Sr. and Miriam Beau-champ.

No services are scheduled at his request.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any favorite charity.

Elmer Walker

March 31, 1931-April 11, 2004

Former Copperopolis resident Robert Elmer Walker died April 11 at his Tracy home. He was 73.

He was born in Copperopolis and lived in Tracy for 10 years, Texas for 10 years, and later in Biggs, Butte County, for 15 years. He later returned to Tracy, where he lived for two months.

He worked as a truck driver. He attended Bret Harte High School in Angels Camp. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years during the Korean War. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was interested in car repairs and was a fan of San Francisco 49ers football team.

Mr. Walker is survived by his daughters, Kathy Walker of Biggs, Roberta Walker of Lufkin, Texas, Terry Shirley of Biggs, Christina King of Temple, Texas, Nova "Tinker" Cooper of Tracy; sons, Bill Walker of Livingston, Texas, Dan Walker of Kyle, Texas, Rob Walker of Copperopolis and Joe Prescott and Tim Hunter, both of Tracy; a sister, Viola North of Carson City, Nev.; 26 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lela and Francis Elmer Walker; and a brother, Jack Walker.

Inurnment was at Altaville Protestant Cemetery in Altaville.

Cunningham's Affordable Burial and Cremation in Modesto handled arrangements.
