Richard

Raymond Johnson

March 16, 1932 — March 16, 2004

Richard Raymond Johnson of Twain Harte died Tuesday at a Sonora hospital. He was 72.

He was born in North Platte, Neb. He built his Twain Harte vacation home in and retired to there in 1988.

He worked as a mechanic for United Airlines for 33 years.

His family said he enjoyed the outdoors, camping and working in the yard.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-55 during the Korean War.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia Johnson of Twain Harte; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Cindy Johnson and Doug and Kris Johnson, all of San Jose, Matthew Johnson of Cameron Park and Richard and Jenn Johnson of Las Vegas, Nev.; a daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Greg Orrock of Soulsbyville; grandchildren, Jason and Jared Orrock of Soulsbyville, Bryan Johnson of San Jose and Jake and Mack Johnson, both of Las Vegas; and a sister, Betty Pickard of Sarasota, Fla.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at All Saints Catholic Church in Twain Harte.

Box 2680, North Canton, Ohio, 44720 and include the name, city and state of the person the donation is dedicated to and the name and full address of the person who should receive notification of the donation.

Ines L. Ferrero

Jan. 11, 1911 — March 15, 2004

Former longtime Sonora resident Ines L. Ferrero died Monday at a Citrus Heights hospital. She was 93.

She was born in Oakland and lived in Sonora for 20 years.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Jeanette Ferrero of Jackson; a daughter, Joann Patterson of Lincoln, Placer County; grandchildren, Jeff and Rich Patterson of Sonoma and Gaylene Capachi of Loomis, Placer County; great-grandchildren, Jenny and Alex Patterson, both of Sonoma, Jared and Paley Capachi, both of Loomis, and Antone Patterson of Sonoma.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ferrero, in 1996.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Price Funeral Chapel, 6335 Sunrise Blvd., Citrus Heights.

Ruth

Ardelle LeCleir

Oct. 26, 1922 — March 16, 2004

Longtime Moccasin resident Ruth Ardelle LeCleir died Tuesday at a Modesto care home. She was 81.

She was born in Chippewa Falls, Wis., and had lived in Moccasin for 24 years. She worked as a boot and shoe saleswoman for 30 years and was the mother of six children.

She was the last descendant in her generation of two immigrant families.

Her family said one family was directly descended from King Charlemagne of France and the other came from French Quebec.

French and English were spoken in her early years in North Wisconsin, her family added.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Linda McNulty of Jamestown; a daughter, Marilyn Haydock, and friend, Ron Montoya ,of Pomona; 12 grandchildren; and friend, Chris Simmons of Moccasin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Helen Allard; and four daughters.

No services are scheduled.

Gilbert T.

Whitmore

Sept. 4, 1934 — March 13, 2004

Gilbert T. Whitmore of Sonora died Saturday at a Sonora care home after a short illness. He was 69.

He was born in Montebello, Los Angeles County, and lived in Modesto from 1975-86. He moved to Sonora in 1996. He served in the U.S. Navy as a gunner during the Korean War from 1953-57. He retired from the Knudsen Company as a plant supervisor after 27 years.

In Sonora, he worked in landscaping and maintenance, most recently at Mill Villa Estates. He loved woodworking, astronomy and history, but most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

Mr. Whitmore is survived by his wife, Gloria Whitmore of Sonora; his children, Debbie Whitmore of Modesto, Dr. Ron Whitmore of Lodi, Maureen Boone of Modesto and Becky Whitmore of Stockton; and five grandchildren, James, Timothy and Melissa Boone of Modesto and Nicole and Ryan Whitmore of Lodi.

A memorial service is scheduled at the home of his daughter, Maureen Boone. For information about the memorial service and future graveyard and scattering services call 533-8689.

PHILLIPSON — A celebration of life for Constance "Connie" Phillipson, 89, of Jamestown is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at her home. She died Feb. 17 at her home. Neptune Society of Northern California in Stockton handled arrangements.
