SUNDAY

10:12 a.m., Sonora area — A caller on the 15900 block of Tuolumne Road reported a group of about 10 chickens causing a traffic hazard.

12:08 p.m., Tuolumne — A caller said a shoplifter had returned to Tuolumne Market and was trespassing.

12:08 p.m., Columbia — A man on the 12300 block of Cattle Drive Trail said trash was illegally dumped on his property.

2:41 p.m., Jamestown — A caller from Gold Prospecting Adventures said a 13-year-old was detained on suspicion of petty theft.

3:38 p.m., Jamestown — A man said his 11-year-old son was assaulted in a parking lot on the 10300 block of Preston Lane.

4 p.m., Tuolumne — A woman on the 18600 block of Madrone Street said another woman was outside making threats.

4:49 p.m., Sonora area — A man said his house on the 22000 block of Elizabeth Lane was burglarized.

4:59 p.m., Sonora area — A woman said her house on 22100 block of Elizabeth Lane was burglarized.

5:10 p.m., Columbia — A man on Italian Bar Road said a woman was on his property and he did not want her there.

5:19 p.m., Columbia — An employee at a business on the 22700 block of Main Street said a customer was urinating on the rear of the building and seemed disoriented.

6:53 p.m., Sierra Village — A caller said one of her employees was assaulted by a teenager at a business on the 24900 block of Highway 108.

7:32 p.m., Sonora area — A caller on the 21300 block of Crestview Court said a stranger tried to turn her front door knob and might still be in the area.

7:54 p.m., Jamestown — A caller on the 10300 block of Preston Lane said he or she needed "to be taken to the third floor."

9:40 p.m., Jamestown — A caller said a man and a woman were fighting on the 11200 block of Highway 108.

Felony bookings

FRIDAY

3:11 a.m., Tuolumne — Rita Olivia Lynn Costa, 40, 400 block of Conejo Street, Modesto, arrested on suspicion of trying to exchange counterfeit currency at Black Oak Casino on the 94000 block of North Tuolumne Road.

She tried to pass two counterfeit $100 bills and one counterfeit $10 bill at the casino, a Tuolumne County Sheriff's report stated. The case has been turned over to the United States Secret Service.

"Over the last few weeks, we have had quite a few counterfeit bills trickling into our county from the Valley," Sheriff's Sgt. Roger Dittberner said. "This is the first case where we have had good leads to go on. Maybe we will get it stopped."

Costa was booked into the Tuolumne County Jail on $150,000 bail, and remained in custody this morning. Her bail was high because more charges may be added and because she has a criminal history of thefts, Dittberner said.

According to the report, Costa told officers about a hotel room in Oakdale where more evidence was found.

3:34 p.m., Sonora — John Jack Kuhl, 27, 18900 block of Golden Dove Lane, Jamestown, surrendered at the Tuolumne County Jail on a Tuolumne County no-bail warrant charging him with probation violation, failure to appear in court and possession of a deadly weapon.

SATURDAY

1:17 a.m., Sonora — Christopher Barrett Hunter, 31, 2600 block of Verde Drive, Colorado Springs, Colo., booked on a Tuolumne County warrant charging him with probation violation, failure to appear in court, possession of marijuana for sale and possessing a controlled substance after he was stopped on Highway 108 at Stockton Road. He was also charged with misdemeanor obstruction of a police officer. He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $35,000 bail.

SUNDAY

6:35 a.m., Sonora — Glenn Robert Kolpack, 20, unknown address, booked on a no-bail Tuolumne County warrant charging him with failure to appear, probation violation and burglary. He was already in custody at the Tuolumne County Jail on other charges.

4:30 p.m., west county — Ralph Steven Spurlock, 47, 1600 block of Waverly Drive, Modesto, booked on Calaveras County warrants after a California Highway Patrol officer stopped him for a seat belt violation on Highway 120. The warrants charge him with burglary, receiving stolen property and vehicle theft. Misdemeanor charges include theft, failure to appear, driving without insurance, unlawful display of registration and driving with a suspended license. He was transported to Calaveras County Jail.

6:37 p.m., Sonora — John Patrick Hyde, 36, 300 block of Sierra Ave., Kingsburg, surrendered himself at the Tuolumne County Jail on a Tuolumne County warrant charging him with making, drawing or passing a worthless check. He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

11:49 p.m., Sonora — Two people were arrested at Sonora Gold Lodge by a Sonora Police officer. Alan David Seider, 48, of Hub Court, Copperopolis, was charged with receiving stolen property and conspiracy. Mona Gaye Ely, 46, no address given, of Copperopolis, was charged with burglary, conspiracy and forgery. No further details were available. Seider remained in custody this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail, and Ely remained in custody in lieu of $15,000 bail.

Fires

YESTERDAY

11:51 a.m., East Sonora — A fire was reported in a wall at the Mono Way Veterinary Hospital on the 14400 block of Mono Way. Damage was estimated at $2,000 to a 6-by-8 foot portion of the wall. No people or animals were hurt. The fire's cause is under investigation. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and Tuolumne County Fire Department responded.

MONDAY

8:30 a.m., vandalism — A caller reported graffiti on the walls of the Terzich parking structure on North Washington Street.

9:39 a.m., vandalism — Windows were broken at the Tuolumne County Library on the 500 block of Greenley Road.

10:51 a.m., theft — A caller said the rear license plate was stolen off a vehicle parked on McCormick Drive.

10:57 a.m., fraud — A woman said a friend picked up a prescription for her at Save Mart on Mono Way and failed to give it to her.

11:26 a.m., burglary — A caller reported a burglary to a residence on South Barretta Street.

10:05 a.m., San Andreas — Items were stolen from an unlocked storage shed in the Oak Shadows Mobile Home Park on the 1300 block of Calaveritas Road.

11:02 a.m., Wilseyville — A political sign was stolen from the 4900 block of Rail Road Flat Road.

11:14 a.m., San Andreas — A cellular phone was stolen from a vehicle in the Oak Shadows Mobile Home Park.

12:23 p.m., San Andreas — A wallet was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the Oak Shadows Mobile Home Park.

3:29 p.m., Rail Road Flat — A loose mule reported on Rail Road Flat Road was located and returned to its owner.

4:47 p.m., Hathaway Pines — An argument was reported on the 200 block of Cedar Drive.

6:22 p.m., Murphys — A rock slide was reported on the 500 block of Church Street.

9:11 p.m., Valley Springs — Two men fought each other with sticks in Sequoia Rose Mobile Home Park on the 300 block of East Sequoia Avenue. One man was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

10:11 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — A pregnant, 3-year-old German shepherd was stolen from the 8700 block of Miwok Trail.

MONDAY

1:18 p.m., San Andreas — A woman was escorted out of the emergency room at Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital after she harassed hospital employees.

3:35 a.m., Copperopolis — A cow was reported walking on Highway 4 near O'Byrnes Ferry Road.

YESTERDAY

2:37 p.m., Valley Springs — Phillip James Crispin, 19, 100 block of Mockingbird Hill, Valley Springs, booked on suspicion of using force with a deadly weapon that was not a firearm. Crispin was arrested at the Calaveras County Sheriff's Department sub-station in Valley Springs. He remained in custody at Calaveras County Jail this morning in lieu of $40,000 bail.

11:35 p.m., White Pines — Joan April Richardson, 49, no address given, of Jackson, booked on suspicion of disorderly conduct, obstructing or resisting a public officer and assault on a peace officer or emergency medical personnel. Richardson was arrested at a bar in White Pines, and was released early this morning on her own recognizance.
