SUNDAY

3:24 a.m., Tuolumne — A Black Oak Casino security officer said a woman was fighting with another security officer over a machine payoff.

9:40 a.m., Phoenix Lake area — A woman said a man in his 30s with dark brown hair tried to run her off the road in his silver SUV after she stopped for a squirrel on Phoenix Lake Road near Meadow Road.

11:28 a.m., Mono Village — A caller said a disoriented woman was walking around Tamarron Mobile Home Park on the 14600 block of Mono Way knocking on doors. The caller said the woman was wearing a jacket inside out.

11:57 a.m., Groveland — A person reportedly assaulted at a bar on the 18700 block of Highway 120 was in Tuolumne General Hospital for treatment.

11:59 a.m., Jamestown — A man found mail and a briefcase in a trash bin at Catholic Cemetery on Main Street.

3:06 p.m., Sonora — A Tuolumne County jail deputy said a woman was in the jail lobby to visit an inmate against whom she has a restraining order. The inmate said this is an ongoing problem with the woman.

5:26 p.m., Wards Ferry area — A caller said a man frequently parks in a small white pickup at the end of Booker Road. When the caller confronted the man about what he was doing, the man said he "looks for stuff."

8:22 p.m., Big Hill — A woman on the 12400 block of Big Hill Road said her husband was assaulted by a man who lives on the same property in a trailer.

8:25 p.m., Jamestown — A man at Oak Hills Apartments on the 10200 block of Preston Lane said an American flag was stolen.

8:29 p.m., Jamestown — A woman on the 10300 block of Preston Lane said her apartment was burglarized.

9:39 p.m., Jamestown — A man was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor disorderly conduct after a caller said he and two other men were fighting at Twin Pines Mobile Home Park on the 10700 block of Wigwam Road.

YESTERDAY

2:52 a.m., Twain Harte — A man on the 18000 block of Mother Lode Drive said he and his girlfriend were drinking and the woman would not shut up so the kids could go to bed.

Felony bookings

THURSDAY

2:28 a.m., Phoenix Lake area — Deborah Ann McMurtrey, 44, 21200 block of Phoenix Lake Road, Sonora, booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and felony battery after an arrest at her home.

According to a sheriff's report, McMurtrey and her boyfriend were arguing and she became angry and swung a hammer at the man, hitting him three times on the head. Others in the house called 911.

She remained held this morning in lieu of $35,000 bail.

FRIDAY

11:15 p.m., Standard area — Dennis William Gottberg, 37, 15000 block of Lupine Lane, Sonora, booked on a felony parole hold and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia after an arrest on Blue Bell East at Tuolumne Road.

He remained held this morning without bail.

SATURDAY

1:05 a.m., Sonora — Kelli Deleda Hitzfeld, 28, 90 block of Bradford Avenue, Sonora, booked on suspicion of making criminal threats and misdemeanor drawing a firearm in a threatening way after an arrest at her home.

According to a sheriff's report, Hitzfeld became angry with her daughter's father during a child exchange and pointed an air pistol at the man's head and made threats as he was trying to drive away.

The man took the gun out of Hitzfeld's hands and called the sheriff's department. She remained held this morning in lieu of $25,000 bail.

2:15 a.m., Jamestown — Robert Alan Granberger, 22, 8500 block of Fraguero Road, Sonora, and Christina Deanne Cook, 28, 2900 block of Turpin Street, Riverbank, booked on suspicion of vehicle theft and receiving stolen property after an arrest by a California Highway Patrol officer on Highway 108 at Rawhide Road.

A be-on-the-lookout order was issued for a 2003 Dodge pickup truck stolen from Modesto. A California Highway Patrol officer saw the truck and stopped it on Highway 108. Granberger was the driver and Cook was a passenger. The sheriff's report said she had five stolen checks belonging to the truck owner in her possession, and was also booked on suspicion of forgery.

Each remained held this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

3:24 a.m., Sonora — Cody James Francis, 21, 17200 block of Margaret Drive, Jamestown, booked on suspicion of drug possession and misdemeanor possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and public intoxication after an arrest on South Washington Street at Stockton Road, Sonora.

According to a Sonora Police report, Francis was vandalizing a planter box in front of a bar on the 100 block of South Washington Street. An officer arrived and arrested Francis. During a search, an officer found methamphetamine and marijuana on Francis.

He was released Sunday after posting $10,000 bail.

3:30 p.m., Curtis Creek Ranch — Steven Bruce Sawyer, 53, 13100 block of Mueller Drive, Groveland, and Cheryl Ellen Kersey, 41, undisclosed address on Seco Street, Jamestown, both booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance after arrest on Black Oak Drive and Andra Drive. No details were available. Sawyer was released Saturday after posting $5,000 bail. Kersey remained held this morning in lieu of $5,000 bail.

10:47 p.m., Sonora — Matthew Lyle Dunlap, 30, 10900 block of Faun Court, Sonora, booked on a felony parole hold after an arrest on East Linoberg Street at South Washington Street. No details were available. He remained held this morning without bail.

SUNDAY

11:21 p.m., Sierra Village — Thomas Austin Pena, 55, 24800 block of Highway 108, Sierra Village, booked on suspicion of making criminal threats with a weapon after an arrest at his home.

According to a sheriff's report, a 52-year-old man said Pena pulled a gun on him and threatened to kill him while the two were at Pena's house.

Pena remained held this morning in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Michael John Lovett, 21, 18500 block of Cheryl Way, Twain Harte, booked at 10 p.m. Friday after arrest on Highway 108 west of Village Drive, Twain Harte.

Zane Stanley Schuller, 66, 700 block of East Oakside Drive, Sonora, booked at 12:10 a.m. Saturday after arrest on Shepherd Street at Mehun Street, Sonora.

Ariel Zuniga, 36, 2900 block of Richard Avenue, Concord, booked at 12:15 a.m. Sunday after an arrest on Seco Street at Ninth Street, Jamestown.

Renee Jo Wessell, 45, 20100 block of Hani Drive, Tuolumne, booked at 2 a.m. Sunday after arrest on Jackson Street at Elm Street, Sonora.

12:42 a.m., public intoxication — A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication on North Washington Street at Elkin Street.

12:57 a.m., public intoxication — A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication on North Washington Street at Snell Street.

11:54 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A man going through a pile of tires and looking into windows of a business on the 80 block of East Mono Way was told by an officer to come back when the business was open.

1:44 p.m., traffic accident — A vehicle was reportedly damaged while parked at a business on the 800 block of Mono Way, either by a hit-and-run accident or from an attempted break-in.

4:08 p.m., threats — A woman said a man threatened her during a child exchange on Green Street.

4:49 p.m., threats — A woman said she was threatened by a man on the 100 block of Mono Way.

5:09 p.m., traffic accidents — A white 2002 Ford Windstar van was hit while parked at Sonora Crossroads shopping center.

5:27 p.m., theft — A woman said her wallet was stolen from her unlocked vehicle parked at Sonora Crossroads shopping center.

6:04 p.m., public fight — An assistant manager at Wal-Mart said four men and a woman were arguing inside the store and that the argument was escalating.

7:42 p.m., reckless driving — A man said another man driving a blue-and-gray Chevrolet Camaro followed the caller to Sonora Crossroads shopping center and tried to yank the caller's car door open.

8:12 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said a man was asleep in a doorway at the Tuolumne County Courthouse on Yaney Street.

11:28 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said a man wearing a down jacket with either white or yellow sleeves was yelling and screaming while walking east on Lyons Street toward Greenley Road.
