MONDAY

7:26 a.m., Sierra Village — A 36-year-old man was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor battery and interfering with a business after an arrest at Sierra Village Market on the 24900 block of Highway 108. The store owner said the man was standing in front of the store before it opened and said he was "the son of Satan" and was going to take "what was mine from the store." The owner asked the man to leave and the two got into a struggle.

7:57 a.m., Standard — An Asplundh Tree Co. manager asked for a deputy to deal with an employee who came to work intoxicated. The 40-year-old employee was arrested on suspicion of public drunkenness.

9:36 a.m., Twain Harte — A man on the 23500 block of Middle Camp Road said safety reflectors and snow poles were stolen from his driveway. The man said he previously saw two teenage boys vandalizing the markers.

11:05 a.m., Phoenix Lake area — A man on the 21000 block of Fortuna Mine Road turned in a drivers' license from a person he caught shooting on his property a few nights ago.

11:51 a.m., Sonora area — A woman said she saw a man and a woman arguing on Greenley Road near Delnero Road before driving away to a business off Cabezut Road.

12:24 p.m., Sonora — A 52-year-old man was booked on warrants after he was discharged from Tuolumne General Hospital.

2:55 p.m., Groveland — A man on the 19700 block of Butler Way said a diamond ring was stolen three weeks ago from his house.

3:06 p.m., Columbia — A woman on the 22400 block of Airport Road South said a man made an obscene gesture at her as the two drove past each other. The woman has a restraining order against the man.

4:01 p.m., Tuolumne — A woman on the 20000 block of Ponderosa Way said a diamond ring and cash were stolen from her house.

4:27 p.m., Tuolumne — A caller said a man was in a parking lot on the 18300 block of Tuolumne Road acting strangely and annoying people. The man left before a deputy arrived.

Felony bookings

MONDAY

3:29 p.m., East Sonora — Christopher Boyd Stevenson, 22, 19100 block of Huron Drive, Twain Harte, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and possessing a controlled substance for sale and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana after an arrest on the 14200 block of Mono Way. Stevenson was also booked on misdemeanor warrants.

He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $20,000 bail.

A 36-year-old man also was arrested at the same time on misdemeanor suspicion of possession of a concealed and loaded firearm in a vehicle.

9:25 p.m., Sonora — Abraham Trujillo Rodriquez, 25, unknown address in Colima, Mexico, booked on suspicion of being in the United States unlawfully after an arrest on North Washington Street at Columbia Way. He remained held this morning without bail.

9:39 p.m., Jamestown — Michael Ryan James, 20, 10100 block of Highway 49, Sonora, booked on suspicion of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of marijuana after an arrest on the 18100 block of Highway 108.

James was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by a deputy who suspected the driver was under the influence, a sheriff's report said.

James was released yesterday after posting $5,000 bail.

Janet Sue Vonich, 48, 12400 block of Big Hill Road, Columbia, booked at 1:25 p.m. Monday after arrest on the 22200 block of Parrotts Ferry Road, Columbia.

Tanner Nicholas Bahten, 19, 10000 block of Eighth Street, Jamestown, booked at 10:35 p.m. Monday after an arrest on the 18100 block of Highway 108, East Sonora.

Sonora police reports

MONDAY

1:59 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A man called 911 to report his car stolen, but it turned out he just misplaced it while he was out drinking.

6:14 a.m., theft — A woman said her wallet, with cash inside, was stolen from her unlocked vehicle parked on Theall Street overnight.

7:50 a.m., weapons violation — An officer spoke with the manager of Big Five Sporting Goods about a person who applied for a gun license but was denied a permit after a check from the Department of Justice.

9:21 a.m., burglary — A Payless Shoe Source employee said that when she opened the door she found the back door wide open and ceiling tiles on the floor.

12:24 p.m., found property — A caller found a bicycle in bushes on South Barretta Street.

12:40 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A man said someone rummaged through his belongings in an unlocked car parked overnight on South Shepherd Street.

2:33 p.m., animal complaints — A dead skunk was removed from an alley behind a business at Sonora Crossroads shopping center.

3:48 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A woman on the 200 block of Greenley Road said another woman made lewd comments to her 10-year-old son.

5:48 p.m., traffic accident — No one was injured in a traffic accident on Mono Way.

10:53 p.m., warrant arrest — A 21-year-old man was arrested on Mariposa County warrants when an officer stopped him on the 300 block of South Washington Street.

Sheriff's reports

MONDAY

8:43 a.m., Valley Springs — Substances believed to be drugs were found on a bench at a business on the first block of California Street.

10:02 a.m., Douglas Flat — An upset female was reported on the 1100 block of Highway 4. She was distraught because her parents were working all day. She was waiting for a bus to take her to Wal-Mart in Sonora.

11:30 a.m., Valley Springs — A suspicious person was reported at the intersection of Barbour and Silver Rapids roads. A caller said the man was armed and was "grinning like a fool." The sheriff's deputy found the man in undershorts with a pellet gun shooting at a bird.

7:10 p.m., San Andreas — A caller on the 1200 block of Wimbledon Drive said items were stolen from him.

7:12 p.m., Murphys — A caller on the 500 block of South Algiers Street said she went for a walk and when she came back a man dressed in all black was wandering outside her house.

7:21 p.m., Dorrington — A man was causing loud noises with a chain saw on the first block of Boards Crossing Road.

7:21 p.m., Valley Springs — A caller at the intersection of highways 12 and 26 said a man and his friend were beating on the paper towel dispenser at a local grocery store.

YESTERDAY

2:12 a.m., Valley Springs — A caller on the 3300 block of Silver Rapids Road said someone was in his backyard, then went into his neighbor's yard.

Felony bookings

MONDAY

9:30 a.m., Jenny Lind — Timothy Joseph Kuntz, 40, 2500 block of Heinemann Drive, Valley Springs, booked on suspicion of manufacturing a controlled substance after arrest at the intersection of Main and Milton roads. Kuntz remained in custody this morning at Calaveras County Jail in lieu of $80,000 bail. He was scheduled to be arraigned today.

1:03 p.m., Valley Springs — Sheila Kay Ellison, 35, 7400 block of Warren Road, Valley Springs, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance after arrest at her home. Ellison was also arrested on an Amador County warrant and three warrants from San Joaquin County. Ellison remained in custody this morning at Calaveras County Jail in lieu of $60,000 bail. She was scheduled to be arraigned today.

5:30 p.m., Valley Springs — Joseph Nichols Camacho, 24, 200 block of Cedar Street, Valley Springs, booked on suspicion of possessing, manufacturing or selling dangerous weapons after arrest at the Mini Mart. He remained in custody at Calaveras County Jail today in lieu of $15,000 bail. He was scheduled to be arraigned today.
