Mildred L. Beard

Aug. 13, 1913 — Nov. 6, 2003

Mildred L. Beard of Sonora died Nov. 6 at a Sonora hospital. She was 90.

She was born in Leavenworth, Kan., and lived in Sonora for more than six years. She was a member of the Tuolumne County Adult Daycare Center.

Her family said she was a beloved mother.

She is survived by her children, Marvin Beard, Betty Kesler, Melvin Beard and Emmaleen Leonard; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Private services will be held.

Oak Hill Funeral Home in San Jose is handling arrangements.

Harold Frank Frith

June 30, 1905 — Nov. 10, 2003

Longtime Sonora resident Harold Frank Frith died Monday at his home. He was 98.

He was born in Los Angeles and lived in Sonora for 40 years. He worked as an electrical engineer for 60 years. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War Il. He was a trained pilot, and his job was to train other pilots. His hobby was amateur radios.

Mr. Frith is survived by his nephews and their wives, Ray and Carol Frith of Fresno, and Richard and Marthe Frith of Los Angeles.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at Heritage Christian Church of Sonora.
