MONDAY

6:50 a.m., Mono Vista — The owner of Qual Tech on the 20700 block of Longeway Road said his business was burglarized over the weekend.

7:19 a.m., Crystal Falls — A shed on the 22000 block of Crystal Falls Drive was broken into and $500 worth of tools were taken.

7:32 a.m., Twain Harte area — A caller on the 15000 block of Big Hill Road said a truck was parked near a gravel pit and the caller suspected the driver was hunting illegally on nearby property.

8:22 a.m., Standard area — Tuolumne Veterinary Hospital, on thge 15100 block of Tuolumne Road, was broken into over the weekend.

8:30 a.m., Cedar Ridge — A man said mail, including new license plates, was stolen from his mail box, on the 24000 block of Oxbow Lane. A description of the driver seen throwing discarded mail out of a vehicle was given to a sheriff dispatcher.

10:24 a.m., Tuolumne — A woman on the 18400 block of Tuolumne Road said she found a book in her house that didn't belong to her.

10:44 a.m., Columbia area — A woman on Rocky Top End Road said her neighbor had his radio playing for 72 hours straight until, he "just turned it off and started wailing."

12:30 p.m., Jamestown area — A woman said a man with long, brown hair and a long beard had been camping alongside Highway 108 near Tulloch Dam Road near a school bus stop.

1:31 p.m., Columbia — A caller said she found her tools missing since May at a squatters' camp on her property near Church Street.

1:36 p.m., Jamestown — A woman on Jeanese Drive said another woman took a swing at her and knocked her glasses off. She said the assault took place on Aug. 15.

2:09 p.m., Mono Vista — The owner of the Smoke House on Sunshine Road said two men were in the restaurant acting strange, possibly checking out his business. The men left before a deputy arrived.

2:10 p.m., Sonora Meadows — A woman said three teenage boys in a white car drove up to her house, started pounding on the door asking for the woman's son.

3:10 p.m., Belleview Oaks — A man on the 21700 block of White Thorn Way said a stereo was stolen from his unlocked vehicle overnight.

4:03 p.m., Crystal Falls — Carpenter's tools valued at $2,400 were stolen from a pickup parked on the 21900 block of Crystal Falls Drive.

5:07 p.m., Big Hill — A man on the 13000 block of Borden Road said his house was burglarized.

5:38 p.m., East Sonora — An employee at a fast-food restaurant on the 13700 block of Mono Way said two people were fighting inside the restaurant.

6:05 p.m., Jamestown — A woman on Ninth Avenue said her neighbor threw a beer bottle and a fence board at her and then punched her in the face.

7:19 p.m., Jamestown — A caller on Maple Alley said a woman is drunk and throwing garbage at her and some children.

7:35 p.m., Jamestown — A woman found a bicycle and left it near a bridge on Mill Villa Road for a deputy to pick up.

7:49 p.m., Jamestown — A man said some kids were going under Highway 108 near Wigwam Road through a tunnel to smoke, and he was concerned they might start a fire.

3:04 p.m., Tuolumne — Ronald Alva Hicks, 41, no address given, Sonora, booked on a state parole hold after an arrest on Tuolumne Road and Carter Street, Tuolumne. He was held without bail this morning.

Arrests

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Rhyn Vannieuwenhuize, 50, 11300 block of Silver Pine Drive, Sonora, booked at 6:25 p.m. Monday after arrest on Highway 108 at Main Street, Jamestown.

Robert Raymond Meng, 55, 15300 block of Palisades Drive, Sonora, booked at 12:01 a.m., yesterday after arrest on Highway 108 at Hess Avenue, East Sonora.

Fire

MONDAY

12:59 p.m., Big Hill — A fire was reported on the 12400 block of Big Hill Road. Damage was estimated at $500 to decking materials and a planter. Cause of the fire is undetermined. Pat Narry of the same address owns the property. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection responded.

9:27 p.m., Sonora — A water heater fire was reported at Denny's Restaurant on the 1000 block of Mono Way. No dollar damage was reported. The fire was extinguished before firefighters arrived. Sonora City Fire Department responded.

MONDAY

12:09 a.m., public peace — A woman on Ruth Lane said she could hear screaming and yelling coming from Sonora High School. The noise was coming from the high school football team, holding its annual midnight practice.

12:41 a.m., vandalism — Three teens walking down McCormick Drive smashing mailboxes with a baseball bat were arrested then turned over to their parents.

2:09 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A woman on Pesce Way said a group of teens were in her backyard drinking. She told them to leave, and three got into a car and drove off with the doors open. Two other teens were left behind and were in front of her house.

8:17 a.m., vehicle theft — A woman on the 400 block of South Stewart Street said her car parked in front of her house was stolen overnight.

9:06 a.m., vandalism — Two classroom windows at Cassina High School on Barretta Street were shot out over the weekend.

10:13 a.m., traffic accident — Three drivers involved in a collision on North Washington Street exchanged names and insurance information, but were not injured and did not need police help.

1:50 p.m., agency assist — A caller said there was a fight in front of Sonora High School. A school official said the school would handle it.

3 p.m., traffic violations — A man acting suspiciously enough in Mervyn's for a security officer to call for police help was cited and released outside the store for driving with a suspended license. The security officer said the man broke an anti-theft device on a pair of shoes.

7:53 p.m., public intoxication — A 61-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of public drunkenness after a Sonora Inn bartender said the woman was causing a problem.

9:12 a.m., San Andreas — A caller on the 500 block of Goldstrike Road said a weapon was stolen.

10:29 a.m., West Point — A caller on the 100 block of Forest Road said chainsaws were stolen.

3:38 p.m., Sheep Ranch — A car abandoned near the 19000 block of Sheep Ranch Road was reported as having a "suspicious" odor coming from it.

6:44 p.m., Arnold — A caller on the 2000 block of Pine Knoll said neighborhood children were riding dirt bikes through the subdivision.

10:12 p.m., San Andreas — People in a light-colored truck allegedly pushed someone's utility trailer over the bank and into a creek.

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

William Raymond Druley, 31, 4000 block of Rocky Road, San Andreas, booked at 12:30 a.m. yesterday after he was arrested at a San Andreas apartment complex.

Londa Katherine Kett, 38, 200 block of Allen Court, Murphys, booked at 8:15 p.m. Monday after her arrest on Highway 49 east of Cosgrove.

Fires

SUNDAY

4:15 p.m., Copperopolis area — A vehicle fire was reported on Highway 4 at Vista Point. Damage was estimated at $300 to a 1984 Jeep Cherokee. The owner is undetermined. CDF and Copperopolis Fire Protection District responded

MONDAY

6:32 p.m., Calaveritas area — A spot fire was reported on Highway 49 about 1 mile north of Cosgrove Road. The fire was caused by vehicle. Caltrans owns the property. CDF, Altaville-Melones Fire Protection District and San Andreas Fire Protection District responded.
