Sheriff's report

SATURDAY

11:50 a.m., Sonora — A 1975 Volkswagen Bug was reported on fire on the corner of School and Snell streets. The fire was caused by a broken fuel line. Courtney Stahl owns the vehicle. Dollar damage was unavailable. Sonora City Fire Department responded.

SUNDAY

4:25 p.m., Big Oak Flat — A woman said she is being attacked by unknown people when she tries to post "No Trespassing" signs on property on Big Oak Road.

4:27 p.m., Race Track Road area — A father and his two daughters were asked to take their motorcycles to an off-road park rather than ride them on a vacant lot on Race Track Road.

6:47 p.m., Willow Springs — A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting a beer valued at $1.74 from Willow Springs Market on the 20500 block of Willow Springs Drive.

8:43 p.m., Jamestown — A woman on the 17000 block of Black Bart Drive said her house was broken into and a glass coffee table broken.

YESTERDAY

1:45 a.m., Soulsbyville — A caller said men in a black pickup truck parked on the 20600 block of Kings Court were disturbing the peace and possibly drunk.

YESTERDAY

7:52 a.m., Sonora — Lisa Marie Allen, 24, 9500 block of Priest Coulterville Road, Groveland, booked on an Amador County warrant charging her with possessing a controlled substance and failure to appear after she turned herself in. She remained in custody this morning in lieu of $20,000 bail.

2:34 a.m., Sonora — Wendy Kay Keys, 37, 3000 block of Collins Road, Ceres, booked on a warrant charging her with forgery and forgery of a credit cardholders signature. She was brought to Tuolumne County Jail from a Stanislaus County Jail and remained held this morning without bail.

2:38 p.m., Sonora — David Lawrence McKay, 56, 20600 block of Resort Road, Sonora, booked on suspicion of burglary and warrants charging him with misdemeanor drunken driving, driving on a suspended license and failure to appear after an arrest at Save Mart on the 1000 block of Mono Way, Sonora. He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $15,000 bail.

7:20 p.m., Standard area — David Anthony Padilla, 21, 16000 block of Morris Road, Sonora, booked on a warrant charging him with mayhem and misdemeanor battery and vandalism after an arrest at his home. He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Fire calls

FRIDAY

3:45 a.m., East Sonora — A vehicle fire was reported on the 19600 block of Hacienda Heights. Dollar damage was estimated at $1,000 to a 1980 Cutlass Supreme. Christopher Juring of Sonora owns the vehicle. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and Tuolumne County Fire Department responded.

10:50 a.m., Pine Mountain Lake — A structure fire was reported on the 12600 block of Cresthaven Drive. The flames were caused by a flue fire that spread into the attic. Dollar damage was estimated at $90,000 to a shake roof and two bedrooms. No injuries were reported. Alfred Mixon of Tracy owns the house. Tenants were Louis Melchore and Patrick Green. Groveland Community Services District Fire Department and Tuolumne County Fire Department responded.

SUNDAY

1:07 a.m., suspicious circumstances — An officer confiscated a false identification at a business on the 100 block of South Washington Street.

8:50 a.m., miscellaneous code — An officer spoke with a camper in a tent behind a business on Sanguinetti Road.

9:30 a.m., animal complaint — An officer was bitten by a small brown dog on the 500 block of South Washington Street.

1:01 p.m., traffic accident — A non-injury crash was reported in the parking lot of a business on the 1000 block of Mono Way.

2:20 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A man called 911 and said a person who stole something from him is at a business on the 600 block of South Washington Street.

3:04 p.m., burglary — A woman on the 200 block of Sylvan Drive said she came home to find the back door wide open and a DVD player and DVDs missing.

5:07 p.m., fight — A woman on the 80 block of North Poplar Street said she could hear a man and woman fighting nearby. She said there were two children in the house.

5:17 p.m., traffic accident — A non-injury crash was reported near a business on the 100 block of South Washington Street.

SATURDAY

2:02 p.m., San Andreas — A youth's shirt was hit with a bullet on the 1100 block of Howell Road. The youth was not injured. The bullet possibly came from a hunter in the area.

2:05 p.m., Copperopolis — A possible case of child abuse was reported.

2:46 p.m., Valley Springs — A resident on McCauley said vehicles are parked at the end of the road and a gate was knocked down, possibly by trespassers.

4:41 p.m., Arnold — An ATM card was reported stolen from a business in Murphys.

6:11 p.m., Copperopolis — A deputy responded to an alarm at a business on the 3500 block of Spangler Lane and found a door was open.

6:47 p.m., Diamond XX — People were reported having a pit bull fight on the 4600 block of Conestoga Trail.

7:01 p.m., Valley Springs — A church van was vandalized on the 80 block of Highway 12.

9:38 p.m., vandalism — A woman threw a rock through the windshield of a vehicle on the 22800 block of Highway 26.

10:04 p.m., Arnold — A man was seen walking through a neighborhood on the 3100 block of Ponderosa with a flashlight and gas.

12:06 a.m., Copperopolis — A fight involving numerous people was reported on the 500 block of Covey.

1:16 a.m., Copperopolis — A resident on the 4900 block of Bayview said a girl knocked on the door and asked if someone was there. When the caller said no, the girl pushed her way into the house.

1:41 a.m., Murphys — A resident on the 1100 block of Laurel Court said a drunken man was arguing with everyone in the house.

12:17 p.m., Murphys — A caller on Main Street said kids playing with water guns were using water contaminated with bio-hazardous materials. A deputy checked the guns and determined everything was fine.

12:19 p.m., Valley Springs — A vehicle parked on the 2400 block of Barbour Road was egged and a window broken.

2:05 p.m., Angels Camp — A man said a bad driver almost ran him over in a grocery store parking lot.

5:13 p.m., Valley Springs — A vehicle parked on the 2900 block of Highway 26 was broken into.

6:23 p.m., San Andreas — A caller said people were fishing on private property on Pool Station Road.

8:57 p.m., Arnold — A caller said a man and two teens were intentionally hitting golf balls into the highway from Meadowmont Golf Course.

YESTERDAY

12:56 a.m., Copperopolis — A woman on the 2900 block of Cheyenne Road said she saw someone with a flashlight running from her yard when she looked out her window.

SATURDAY

2 a.m., Copperopolis — Paul Fusek Knier, 56, undisclosed address Avenue A, Mountain Ranch, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and a dangerous weapon after arrest on Highway 4 and Appaloosa Road, Copperopolis. He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $35,000 bail.

5 a.m., Lake Camanche area — Michael Robert Hedger, 33, undisclosed address Southworth Road, Valley Springs, booked on suspicion of battery on a peace officer and misdemeanor vandalism and drunken driving after an arrest on Camanche Parkway.

Hedger was brought in for booking on the drunken driving arrest and while a deputy was putting Hedger into a cell, the suspect hit the deputy in the jaw, dislocating it, a sheriff's department report said.

Hedger remained in custody this morning in lieu of $65,000 bail.

Jose Jesus Ortega, 37, 1100 block of Bush Street, Angels Camp, booked at 1:30 a.m., Saturday after arrest on Highway 4 and the Vallecito bypass, Vallecito.

Charles Eugene Bowermaster, 34, Dawes Street, Stockton, booked at 9:16 p.m. Saturday after arrest on Silver Rapids Road, Valley Springs.
