Alden Maynard
‘Andy’ Anderson

July 30, 1913 — April 15, 2014

Twain Harte resident Alden “Andy” Anderson died peacefully at Sonora Regional Medical Center on April 15, 2014, at the age of 100 years old.

Born in Washington on July 30, 1913, to Andrew and Anna Anderson, Andy lived an exciting and varied life starting out as a bush pilot in Alaska. He instructed other pilots and eventually became an electrician and electrical estimator, living then in Burlingame, Calif.

He also pursued music, possessed a beautiful tenor singing voice and presented concerts and recorded albums with a special emphasis on Latvian folk music. He was most often accompanied by his dear pianist wife, Myrtle.

An accomplished golfer, Andy carried a handicap that was the envy of many.

He had many wonderful friends, with nearly 50 of them celebrating his 100th birthday with him last summer and will be dearly missed.

Andy was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Myrtle Anderson.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Vivian and Dan Good, of Strawberry.

No service has been scheduled at his request.

Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling the arrangements.
